[Rose pans her mirror down from her waaaaay tall bicycle.]

I really hope that's true, because I don't much like my chances of getting back on it if I fall. Wish me luck!

[She sets out, and so far, so good.] Okay, so anyone else get jobs yet and all that? Give me sound my first night out, since I didn't wanna risk my cybud up here.

[Exclusively for her "roommates," there's a pair of cupcakes, one for 12 and Michael respectively. 12's is banana with edible ball-bearings, and Michael's is devil's chocolate with a paperclip. Both have messages.]

That is a very, very tall bike. What do you need such a tall bike for, anyway? It'd be great for picking apples...

Oranges then, perhaps. And ahh, yes. I can see how that'd be perfect for lighting lamps. [He pauses.] They're not electric? [Meaning the lights.]

Hmmm, yeah. That'd be tricky. How did you get up on it in the first place? [He pauses to think.] Maybe you can set up some kind of pulley system? Like... toss a rope over a tree branch and pull yourself up? Or maybe an extendable/collapsable ladder that you can carry on your back like a backpack! Climb up it, get on the bike, pull it up after you and fold it up? You'd have to find some place to brace yourself against, while you're on your bike, when you do that, though... Too bad the bike itself doesn't have a ladder built into it.

[Fenton puffs up a little, proudly.] Accountant for the mayor. Going to help him keep the books balanced, and all.

They are not. [Small laugh.]

Built in ladder... You know, I might have to ask the Doctor about that, good idea Fenton!

Ooooohhh, impressive! I take it you did accounting before?

Huh... The lights in the apartments are electric. You'd think they'd upgrade the street lights...

[He puffed up a little at that, lifting his chin proudly.] Why thank you! I'm FULL of great ideas, and they always... [He trailed off, adopting a sudden sheepish expression.] Well, okay, they don't always work. But! You never know until you TRY it. Right?

Yup! I'm the accountant to the richest duck in the world, back home! [Not mentioning the fact that he knew nothing about accounting before being accepted, and learning most of it on-the-job.]

I got a job, today, too. I start tomorrow - they're letting me work at the Emporium, that big store full of all the stuff! I'm so excited, Rose. All that human stuff.

Okay, you should name him! And you can put him next to your bed like a good luck charm. But not too near the lamp, he'll melt faster than a real paperclip.

Uh-huh.... [Nod nod. You giant weirdo.] Do they have glitter and cardboard though? This is very important. [No, it's not, she just wants to see him get the equivalent of craft store herpes.]

[Puts the brakes on the bike to hold it in place, light up a lantern, and suck on a finger in mock thought.]

I really find tall sexy men with white hair covered in glitter the most sensuous thing ever.

[Laying it on way too thick? Almost definitely. But Rose wasn't willing to bank on him or the Doctor getting it if she was even a teensy bit more subtle.]

It has been a while. Maybe what you need is to strap a few pillows to yourself, then at least you would have a soft landing if you fell.

[She giggles and shakes her head.] I don't mind a scrape or two! It's just I don't know what to do about a ladder in the middle of nowhere, yeah?

Lydia is at work when she sees a bike go by that's so tall, she can't see the rider. She glances around quickly to make sure there are no customers, then ducks outside to investigate, wishing she had a camera of her own again. Soon.

"Wow, I've never seen a bike like that before! You've got really good balance."

[bigbadrose]

"Thanks! Bronze in under-12 gymnastics, me! But mostly for the dancefloor, but seems I've still got it!"

"Whatcha up to?"

"Waiting for customers. No one needs anything developed today, but... I guess with everything all Corrupt, there's not much to take pictures of."

She leans on one of the decorative pillars, keeping an eye on the street in case someone comes along to prove her wrong. "It's good, though, I get to practice and get better at for when I can afford a new camera. ... What is a bike that big even for? Is it one of those street performance jobs?"

[bigbadrose]

"Guess we'll have to start fixing things up to get places back," Rose hums quietly in thought.

"No! I'm a streetlighter! Lamp lighter!"

[he will give her a message back, tucked against her pillow]

[She doesn't know how to feel about it. Is he trying too hard? Is she?]

[She's literally just not going to think about it. She uses it for a bookmark, studying their spellbooks and such, and even though she says she'll go to sleep, she finds herself waiting for him to come back. Like a dog. Jeez.]
