[Rose pans her mirror down from her waaaaay tall bicycle.]

I really hope that's true, because I don't much like my chances of getting back on it if I fall. Wish me luck!

[She sets out, and so far, so good.] Okay, so anyone else get jobs yet and all that? Give me sound my first night out, since I didn't wanna risk my cybud up here.

[Exclusively for her "roommates," there's a pair of cupcakes, one for 12 and Michael respectively. 12's is banana with edible ball-bearings, and Michael's is devil's chocolate with a paperclip. Both have messages.]

[She giggles and shakes her head.] I don't mind a scrape or two! It's just I don't know what to do about a ladder in the middle of nowhere, yeah?

Yes, I do see your point. Maybe there are a few benches around? You could use them like a mounting block.

There are! But they wouldn't be tall enough either. So just keep me balanced okay?

Now that is a tall order!

[ He snickered at the pun but moved swiftly on. ]

So that is the job you settled on, is it? Lamplighter. They might have just given you a ladder and a long pole, but I suppose if you are enjoying yourself... you are enjoying yourself, aren't you?

Yeah! I hate pretty much every other job, but I always felt pretty free riding my bike around in London, and I found out my element specialty! It's light! So this is pretty perfect for me!

[ Happily he chanted the little rhythm he had just dreamed up a few times in a sing songy style voice like it were a congratulations for Rose when... suddenly it had an effect. Little glowing balls of colored light formed around Rose, clinging to her bike and harmlessly floating around her. His chant ended instantly. ]

Oh dear... It's happened again, hasn't it?

[bigbadrose]

[Giggles.] I guess yours is pure whimsy? Or just random?

If I had to put a label on it I would say it's more... chaotic.

[bigbadrose]

But it's whimsy chaotic.... no you're right. Flaming hats. Okay, so how do you manage that?

[funnylittleclown]

I've notice it does tend to happen in one of two ways. Either I'm thinking about something I'd really like to have and I end up getting it... though not always in a useful way, like the hats. Or I'm saying something that rhymes and that causes something to happen, like those lights a moment ago. I don't seem to have much control of it at all.

I do hope your light powers are working out better? No unusual side effects?

Yeaaaaaaaaaah.... No unusual side effects... because there's barely ANY affect at all....

Really, energetic girl like you? I'd think you would light up any room!

That's what they all say.

[Tongue out the side.] Nah, I've always been magic. They totally wrote that Police song all about me.

Maybe if you played that song while you worked you could light the lanterns with your magic!

That's the eventual goal but lessee..

[Starts humming.] Gimme a little recorder help?

A little traveling music?

[ He fished around in his dozen or so pockets before he found where his recorder had been placed. And the music does start out as 'Every little thing she does is magic' but it ends up as this because he is a time traveling troll who once ran into the meme.]

[bigbadrose]

[She laughs and shakes her head.]

How often do you get told that you're completely mad?

[More laughs and another headshake.] Careful or you might flood your flat with those soon.

Often enough.

[ His bright smile faded quickly though and he swatted at the screen in mock horror. ]

Oh, don't say that! Now the idea is in my head!

[bigbadrose]

[More evil giggles. Can't out-troll a human troll.] Pen, apple, apple-pen.

[ And the connection was lost as a pineapple and apple screensaver took up the entire screen. With bonus dancing pencil. Things rarely appeared for him the way they were expected to. ]

[Laughs.] Well, could be worse!
