If the last three times you crossed the street, there weren’t any cars coming—that doesn’t mean you can criss the street without looking and not become road pizza.

You could also say that by applying that thought process, your views on humans and demons as they are wouldn't apply without heavily thorough research.

...Except that, according to your world, you have a unique experience with breathers that demons normally don't have, and are therefore redefining yourself at the same time, don't you think?
