Dazzling display of demonic mischief

[ As the sun set on Main Street and the lamplighters went about their work setting a spark of flame to each street light the horrors were revealed. Huge crawling nasty looking spider shadows that caused the ladies to scream and the gentleman to brandish their walking sticks in defense. Every reaction was savored as Crowley watched his work from the safe distance of a cafe table. A light scattering of plastic spiders rested around his milkshake glass. ]

You have to love it when they leap off the curb like landing in front of a horse drawn carriage is any safer.

[ He took a long rattling sip, annoyingly slurping up all of the rest of his drink until that ear-clawing sucking sound had a good five minutes to drive everyone within ear shot crazy. ]

I'm not sure what to do next. I could TP the castle... but that sounds a touch juvenile. Besides it's not like it would rain in the next five seconds to make that a real mess.

Maybe rats. I can see if any of them want to play, 'better call the health department.'

Nate was minding his own business, picking up a nice dinner for two to-go from the Cafe, when he walked outside with his paper bag and saw the myriad of arachnid shadows. "HOOOO- crap." He nearly dropped the bag, but caught it just in time. The spiders weren't moving ... he was standing in a lighted spot ... it was okay.

Slowly, he caught his breath. "Jesus," he sighed, smiling a little out of embarrasment as he realized that it was probably someone's idea of a joke. The damage was already done, though: Crowley was likely seated quite close at hand.

Oh, Crowley, I love it! You should keep them up until Halloween!

He was seated close enough to play witness to the entire scene and to have a good laugh about it before once again making that obnoxiously annoying sound with his straw.

"Aren't you supposed to be a fearless adventurer?"

That would be festive but... I think the lamplighters will have cleaned them all out of the lamps by then. They will probably have to be re-spidered.

"Adventurer, absolutely," he grinned. "Fearless? Not by a longshot. I mean - I climbed all the way up there -" Nate points to the tallest spire of the castle - "a couple of weeks ago and didn't bat an eye, but ... Let me tell you, there's this one breed of spider the size of my head that moves in ginormous swarms and eats like a damn piranha. If you're not afraid of something that can gang up and pick you clean to the bones in a minute flat ... you need your head checked, in my opinion."

Awwwwh. I wish Rose were awake, she'd be able to talk the others out of taking them down for me.

[she bites her lip, worried for a moment, before putting things back on track]

How long did that take you? Or did you just cheat and magic them all?

Crowley glanced at the spire and then back at the one foolish enough to climb all the way up there.

"Why? Some one tell you not to?"

She'd 'talk' to them alright, at volume and until they agreed with her.

[ Rose had a way of yelling people into submission... when she wasn't curse like some sleeping beauty. ]

Not long. Just tossed a few into the glass bowl while every one was avoiding the afternoon heat. I was saving the magic for something really interesting.

[ Crowley's head rolled lazily towards the mirror as he gave BJ the driest of looks. ]

[ He was less than impressed. ]

They are a little slimy but not exactly scary.

[He rummaged in his jacket pocket, donning the world’s ugliest sock puppet, opening its mouth to show off the second head and teeth hidden inside.]

I fed Ma to one! Ate her mostly in one go.

You want to unleash giant Ma-eating sandworms on an unsuspecting town?

[ This being the most demonic suggestion he had heard in a long time deserved another super annoying slurpy sip of milkshake. ]

I guess it makes sense that you don't mind the summer heat, huh? ... Do you have enough warm stuff for winter? I can make you and Aziraphale some if I start now. With room for your wings.

Make them? I didn't make the spiders. They are just some plastic things I bought at the Emporium. I did put them where they would be the most entertaining.

[ He shrugged a 'yeah' but just as quickly found himself grimacing at the mention of winter. Summer heat was nothing for him, it melted ice creams but that was about it... winter though. He would be freezing his scales off! ]

RRrrrr! Monster time in winter! I can't think of anything worse! Thanks for bringing that up. Now I'll have to think up more things to do just to cheer myself up...

[ He pouted and set his demonic mind to the task only glancing back at the mirror as it occurred to him there had been more to what she said than, 'Winter is coming'. ]

Maybe you could do something with caterpillars? But if you do that, and you put one in somebody's drawer, be sure it's a drawer they open a lot.

That's effective. I have used that one before.

Why not try this one out on a roommate. Get yourself some powdered drink mix, preferably something red with a strong scent, like cherry or fruit punch. And sneak into the bathroom when your roommate isn't at home. What you do is unscrew the shower head and pack it full of the drink mix. Then when your roomie goes to wash off they will see the water turn red.

It didn't die, but... Well, see, I put a woolly moth caterpillar in the Minister of Agriculture's desk drawer one time; it was supposed to be a joke, since he's scared of bugs. But then he didn't open that drawer for a few days, and the caterpillar chewed up a bunch of flimsies with important datawork on them and I got in big trouble.
