Don't you think it'd be best to practice at a more convenient time? Midday, maybe?

I don't understand.

Right now is early, Keeper. Many of us sleep to replenish ourselves. If that sleep is disturbed and we wake up early, we aren't properly recharged and it tends to make people unfocused.

Don't you sleep?

[abys_keeper]

I know what sleep is. It's twelve pm I don't understand. Or early. Or late. It's all very confusing.

I sleep only a little because dangerous things can get you in the dark if you're not careful and now that Aby is gone it's very lonely.

[connie_maheswaran]

That's just following time. Generally, its best to do loud things when people are up and moving around rather than when there is no sun up and its dark. Otherwise you risk people getting very mad at you.

I will take your word that something like that might happen in your world. Who is Aby?

[abys_keeper]

[he sighed] When I am up and moving about, no one is. Everyone is of the bright world and the blue sky. No one loves the night. They just get mad at it.

[then a faint smile]

Aby was my love, my love, my love. My heart song. They were so wise and so strong and so fragile, tender and hurt and brilliant with compassion. That means caring for others even if they hate you. Aby had a wonderful smile and bright eyes and when they were there, even the sun couldn't hurt me.

But now they have gone with their beloved humans and their song is all that is left.

It isn't the fault of the night. It's just that everyone is usually asleep when its night time. Most of us aren't nocturnal, though we can be. It's just when you disturb people's time to sleep, it gets them very angry.

I didn't know. I'm sorry. Aby sounds pretty amazing. I have someone back home who's my heart song too. I'm trying to deal with being here, but I miss him pretty terribly too.

[abys_keeper]

Yes. [he frowns deeply and makes a sad kazoo sound]

I'm sorry about your heart song. I hope you get to sing with him again soon.

Me too.

In the meantime, I can try to enjoy it here. It won't quite be what I'd like, but its something I think I'll appreciate later on.

It's very nice here. The people are interesting and there are things to do and you're a human so you can eat whatever you want. You'll make a lot of memories that you won't ever want to forget.

I'm betting that too. It's why I'm not too sad about being here, although there are things back home I really miss.

At home the sea is so big and lonely now. There are no songs left for me. Here there aren't any either, but everyone is so interesting it doesn't feel lonely yet.

It's one of the good things about being somewhere new: you can usually find people you can befriend, and hopefully confide in from time to time.

I'm sorry that home doesn't feel as warm anymore, but maybe that might change in time?

No. I am alone now. There is no one in the whole sea. The song echoes back at me and no one is there to sing along.
