A Fiery Bouquet of Welcome

Heard the meet and greet was a bust. Guess the citizens decided to share their gloomy mood with the newbies, typical of humans. When you're in a bad mood you always feel the need to spread it around.

Even Chef has got a dose of it. Usually the candy shop makes a whole spread of goodies for those banquets. This time he didn't even bother suggesting it. I finally tempted him into at least making a few gift baskets... 

[Crowley sneered and looked at one of the baskets.]

Not sure that's a good thing. He was laughing and singing a made up song about hot peppers when he made these.

But it's free right? How bad could they be? If you are new to the Kingdom stop by the candy shop on Main Street to pick up your free basket.

I've met the type. All about incense and finding harmony... They are usually the first ones to let their hair down and go wild.

No, not at all. But, neither am I.

Usually though, they try so hard to ignore death and the unusual. It’s gotta be exhausting.

Depends on the person and the culture. The Egyptians were big into death, seeing it just as a stepping stone towards something greater. Even some individuals seem more interested in it than normal people.

I don't really see the fascination.

Not healthy for whom, the humans? Eh, I don't know... seems like it would be more fun to live life rather than worry about not having one.

Dying sucks, not gonna argue that. Being murdered even more so, but, still!

There’s a lot they’re missing on by ignoring ghosts and such.

I'm not sure they are ignoring ghosts though. Most humans can't see them. It takes a very sensitive sort of person to even pick up on them being around.

Nah, they can. They just ignore. At least back home, that’s how it works. Ask Lydia.

Well, back home for me was different. Humans can't see the occult unless they are tuned into it some how, like I said... or the occult being is wearing an issued body.

Huh. Weird how different universes can be.

Failed, obviously. But they tried.

I wasn’t very old, and they weren’t super talented. Ended up guiding them to the Netherworld. Their circle had a teeny little gap in it and that was enough.

Amateurs really shouldn't fool around with things like that... They get a few candles, a book and a bell and suddenly they think they can take on a demon.

I'm surprised he bothered to apologize at all. Usually people are unrepentant to the end.

Well, not now. Depowered and about as intimidating as a Build-a-Bear Hobo.

I lose my temper and that kinda changes.

I can't see your angry being all that intimidating either, but then compared to the people I worked for... everything pales.

Again, I don't have my powers, and I'm not actively mad at anyone here.

Other than generally irritated at the schmoes who brought us here.

The whole lack of powers thing is a real problem...

Them too, but I don't imagine they will change any time soon.
