[Mal's mirror came up on someone having the best worst day ever. she pulled out her mirror and aimed it at him, pulling it back enough to show the pink glitter turning white as it got close enough to him.] "Smile for the camera, because this is forever now." [This was actually better than burning the candy shop. This was too perfect. She was going to get Lydia to set up lots of prints of this for her to keep forever. In fact... ] "Hey, Lydia," [she said to the mirror, broadcasting this to everyone] "Can you get over here with your camera?"

[There was the faintest hint of worry in his tone, a few wisps of yellow creeping into the green. He’d promised Lydia it wouldn’t be a contest, that he wouldn’t fight over her.]

"It isn't. You don't get it. Whatever. See you then." [It isn't about one of them wanting her more or less, it's about Lydia knowing both of them wanted to invite her. Because Mal knew what it felt like to not be invited. It was kind of a thing in her family.]
