Honey I shrunk the apprentices!

I think I have this figured out now. Mostly...

[ She added while adjusting the small mouse sized mirror on a stone so it would be propped upright enough to show what she was talking about then she paced over to stand next to a large acorn. ]

Its Wish magic so all I really have to do is wish for it hard enough and I should be able to make this acorn small enough to fit in the palm of my hand.

[ That said she closed her eyes and held out a paw which began to glow as she made her wish. When her eyes fluttered open again she was indeed holding the now much smaller acorn in her paw. ]

It worked! I mean... I-- I thought it would. I've been practicing this a lot lately and...

[ Just spit it out, she told herself with a deep steadying breath. ]

Would anyone out there feel brave enough to volunteer to be shrunk yourself?

Mmmmmm... .[he rolls about in thought] Okay. Try to make me small. And I'll try not to get big again.

Ok. Here goes nothing.

[ She nodded before closing her eyes. This time she tried to clear her mind of all other thoughts before making her wish. She wished Keeper and his ball of protective water would both shrink... down, down, down... to her size! ]

[abys_keeper]

[he closes his eyes and shrinks. Though something does go a little wonky with his proportions come out a little skewed but he feels fine]

You did it! [pleased] Can you pull me? [waves a pudgy tendril]

Oh!

[ She blinked into those hugely doe-eyes, finding his new form both terrifying and oddly cute. You almost didn't know whether to run or give him a hug!
She opted to take his tentacle in paw and guide him along like one of those children's pull toys.]

I suppose it will work. This way then!

[ They had to squish themselves under the front door when they came to it but the apartment beyond was empty. They could quiet leisurely cross the room and head up the ramps that led to her trunk sitting on the windowsill. ]

And here is where I have been living.

[ She gestured to the large truck before scurrying over to it to open the front door. ]

It looks like every other apartment really, its just a lot smaller.

[ It also had some unique wallpaper as a huge drawing of herself in a Christmas outfit hung from the wall. It was signed by Leia. ]

[because he was small, she'd only feel a little tickle from taking his tendril with a bare paw. He was happy to be pulled around and nervous to be in the room, flashing lights and looking around for the angry woman and her mate. He felt safer in her little place]

Ohhh everything is small. [he held a thimble in two hands, not that he knew what it was.] Is that you? [at the picture] Did you make that?

It was like static! And as a small furry creature she had had more than a few run in with static! Winter could be murder when the air grew dry enough to cause you to zap your family every time you passed by them.

And thimbles were exceedingly useful things! The one he held had been everything from a bucket to the step stool.

"Leia drew that image of me for Christmas. It was so sweet that I had to hang it some where."

That had previously been a very blank wall... though she did worry a bit that having such a large image of herself might make her seem just a touch too conceited.

"Most of the furniture came with the trunk but things like that thimble and that button."

She walked over to a table to pick up the plastic item that she often used as a coaster.

"Are small things I have found around town. You can do so much with abandoned human things."

[abys_keeper]

"Oohhh." He holds the button between his two tiny hands. "You are so wise. I never thought of using them for anything. I just hide them under my rock." He takes a taste of it in his mouth and makes a face. "It's not very delicious. What do the humans do with it?"

[mrsbrisby]

"You have a rock? Is that where you live?"

I mean, maybe he did if it were a very large rock! Back in her world she had lived in an old cinder block. It made for a very comfortable and save home... most of the time.

"They don't eat it."

She started, helpfully.

"I think they put it on their finger so that they don't prick themselves when they are sewing."

[abys_keeper]

"No I have a rock where I live. I could show you! But you would have to learn how to breathe through your skin." It was very tough on creatures that couldn't and didn't have gills. He put the thimble on his finger. It covered his arm up to his elbow. Laughing he put it on his head. Then squished his whole body into it and flopped on the floor.

"I'm a hermit crab!" He stuck out a and and made little motions with it. "Pinch pinch!"

"I don't think it would be very easy to learn how to breath through the skin."

Her protest was light and tinged with a giggle that stopped abruptly once he had squeezed his entire self into that thimble. She marveled at the flexibility with eyes as wide as saucers until the newly created 'hermit crab' came out of his shell to pinch at the air. Then she practically doubled over from laughing.

"Oh my goodness! I've never seen anyone... you are such a silly thing!"

"You have a pretty laugh." He enjoyed hearing it. And then, sneakily. "I'm going to get you." He had to lift the thimble a little so he could see where to aim, then gently pinched her tail between his fingers. "Pinch!" Then. "Aahh! The flavor's too scary!" And he pulled himself all up underneath the thimble again and tried to float away as fast as he could.

She had never been attacked by a crab before. Brisby startled, her fur momentarily fluffing, but as it was Keeper who retreated she found herself laughing again as she dropped to all fours and attempted to peer under the escaping thimble.

"You can taste just from touch?"

[abys_keeper]

"Yes!" He smiled. "From a tendril, though, not a finger." He wiggled a tendril at her. "It's very useful for pulling prey into your bell."
