I...I'm sorry about what's happened! It's, no one's fault. But these witches they're old magic; some of the oldest kind! But I know we can beat them and save the Kingdoms.


But we have to work together.

[He plop down on the desk that the mirror is propped up on.]

I know that some new people just got here. And, I...We need people to train them! And everyone. Progress City was more about science, but I know there's gotta be books in the library about these ladies and The Dreamfinder always said, knowing is how you get better.

But we can't train in the castle...it's way too dangerous, so we have to go to safe places in Main Street. The Blacksmith for Warriors, Heroes and Machine classes. The Opera house is totally empty, so fairies and monsters, can...you guys go there?

[He taps his chin in thought.]

Mystics...oh! Mystics, you guys can go to the Magic Shop!

That leaves the Princesses...Miss Eleanor, do you think the basement of the Emporium would be open?

[He sits up.]

The Sanderson Sisters are too strong right now. They've, already hurt a lot of people and a lot of you guys but we can't give up. We can beat them and save Main Street!

[Well- he wouldn't say that, especially not currently. He knew to be leery of those objects and he should have prevented their having been handed over to Hades in the first place. He might as well have gathered up all seven of the Millennium Items and hand delivered them to Bakura..... Oh wait. Although it hadn't occurred quite like that, returning them to the tomb was what Bakura had anticipated] I'm more concerned about you and of course Fenton. [It wasn't realy an answer to the question posed] How are you holding up?

[Apparently Lydia wouldn't be deflected. It's not as if such a thing would have worked on oh say.. Téa either. I know this is awful, but ... we should tell everyone what happened. That cottage ... maybe if we go back, we can find some clues to stop them. If nothing else, we know the way there, and if we find something good, we could turn it around.

Atem didn't want anyone to assume he was trying to hide it, which would have reflected just as negatively on his character as the deed itself. No, it was not cowardice that had stayed his being forthright with it but oversight.] They should be told the truth and given all the facts. I completely agree. In fact, if it's all the same to both you and Fenton I can deliver that message on behalf of the three of us. [Ie. that way he would be taking the risk for using the mirror]

I'd rather the witches not know it was the three of us, if we can help it. I was hoping we could maybe tell everyone in person. The only group one of us wouldn't be at training for would be the Mystics, and ... I can tell the Doctor, since he's a Mystic, and he can pass it on.

[The witches already seemed to know who had collected the items- not that Atem was aware of it since he didn't have a recollection of the initial message they'd sent out or the proceeding conversations- so he was only too willing to go along with her suggestion in case they were ignorant of this fact]

If you think that is for the best. [It might be obvious that someone was currently doubting his own judgement with as quickly as he was changing gears. Internally this was a source of additional frustration. He needed to get it together. The witches had contented themselves mostly parlor tricks- like turning people into jack'o lanterns -but how long would that last.]

[he's not as strong and self-assured as the pharaoh who went with her twice into the jungle. who gave Fenton a stirring pep talk about humanity and heroism. ... maybe it was time he got a taste of his own strength.]
