If the witch's magic was strong enough to be cast from a remote location and still be effective then the mirrors were unsafe and compromised. Lipka, the apprentice witch, should be so lucky to ever master the arts in such a fashion. It was a wonder why so many other's kept trying to converse with them.

Here in a new land, and virtually powerless Hel wasn't fancying her odds of directly turning this around. She'd never felt so helpless in eons, and she wasn't about to own up to it.]

[What he said next caused her some pause. Hel was of the opinion that the dead should remain that way. They'd earned their rest, so it was more disturbing to her that the forces here decided to violate that principle on a whim.

I guess. [ Which is as close as she would come to empathizing] I know they say time doesn't progress while we are gone, but if that is in error there may be nothing for me to return to. [Or in other words total destruction, and no surviving siblings for any family.]
