[The clouds part and the Hunter's Moon shines a crimson red over the sleeping Main Street. Maybe the rest is a little uneasy. Maybe it should be. Three strangers appear in the mirror, the castle behind them, white walls turned red by the moonlight. The redheaded one steps forward.]

Greetings, apprentices!

I see thee all tucked in thy beds as borrowed magic flows through thy veins. Well, no longer! When we come into power, all thy magic will be ours and ye would be our bread and our meat and our servants hand and foot. Whatever we shall need of ye.

Unless of course, thou woulds't like to move ahead of the line....

[she laughs, full shrieking cackles, as do the others]

I look forward to see thee wriggling like worms on hooks.

Oh, and if thou are expecting help to come from any quarter.

[she holds up three crystal pendants to the mirror, in which apprentices can see a Merlin, Hades and Dreamfinder, small and unconscious within]

Thou wilt not receive it.

[there is a clap of thunder and a brilliant flash of lightning... and then they are gone. But are not far.]

[He nods and flutters in, landing on the nearest bed and shivering from the rain and a bit more. He takes a minute before shaking it all off and looking up.]

Where are you going?"

I'm gonna get Atem and Fenton, and we're gonna go save Dreamfinder, because we got him into this. But first - are you okay?

[she goes to the closet and pulls out a spare blanket, wrapping it around him and picking him up in a hug]

Did they hurt you?

[The blanket and hug are very appreciated and he sort of sinks against her before shaking his head.]

Nu uh, it happened really fast! The blond lady showed up when we were sleepin' and she just said something and Blair was gone in this big old flash of light! It was kinda pretty but also really scary.

[He frowns a bit before wiggling around enough to look at her.]

I wanna go out and look for him too but...we can't. Not yet! I..I don't know who they are. They were from a long, long, long time ago, when imagination was used to scare people and keep them from not listening.

And not the same sorta scary that Mr. Hades does, this was bad scary.

Pretty but scary, huh? It sounds like magic to me.

[she's upset, sure, but she's also really intrigued, because it sounds like her sort of domain. and it just confirms her suspicion. she bites her lower lip]

Figment ... I need to tell you something, and I feel like I need to apologize before I even say it.

Yeah! Really, really old magic!

[He stopped before he could ramble on, tail twitching as he smiled up at her.]

Aw, whatever it is if you're really sorry, then I forgive you!

Figment, I -

[a shudder ran through her, as if the walls had eyes. she scooped him up and carried him out into the living room, where there were no mirrors, and she was out of earshot of all of them, even the bathroom]

- I think this started because of something Hades had me help him with. He sent Fenton, Atem and I on what he called a 'secret mission' to a cottage, in a part of the Kingdom I'd never been to before. It was all abandoned, but once we found what we were looking for, something Corroded attacked us. But it wasn't like a normal Corroded monster. It was almost like this one was guarding what he sent us for.

[He just wiggles to get comfortable, but looks around still. Where were they going?]

Mr. Hades...wait! What did he send you for?

[she decides to leave her bags near the door for now, until she's had a chance to talk to Fenton and Atem. no use starting a panic if everyone sees her with her mission gear]

A big, creepy-looking book. And a black candle. But he wouldn't tell us what they were for, only that he needed them to help the Kingdom because they were magic.

[Wait. His eyes widen and he puts his hands on her shoulders.]

Was it a big old book with an eyeball and, and a creepy looking candle that smelled really, really weird???

That's the book. [her voice was practically dripping with dread] And I didn't smell it, but ... if that's the book, I'm pretty sure that was the candle, too. What would Hades have really used them for?

Yeah! That's what Mr. Hades had in his rooms when he called Blair and I over! He asked us to light the candle 'cause well, there's a lot of Dream energy happening but not a lot of Nightmare energy.

So he said he was feelin' kinda weak. But when Dreamfinder lit the candle...it was a black flame and, everything felt different. I didn't like it.

"If that were really Nightmare energy, I think I would have felt something more around it ..." She scowled. "He lied to you both. He took advantage of how much you would have wanted to help..."

Her choker glowed as she set her jaw. "Ooooh, if I had enough Sparks I'd summon up a Sandworm to swallow him whole, just like that CREEP Beetlejerk!"
