[There were the sounds of claws on a hard surface and a door sliding close as Rose quickly went out onto the balcony of her shared apartment. She had to get out of there before Larry woke up. Soa knew that the man was very jumpy and him seeing her like this wasn't going to help. But she did grab her mirror on the way out. She just didn't realize that she hit the audio feature when she so.]

[There is a deep reptilian like growl, and that is when she notices that her mirror is recording. She's a bit it's at least did not show what she looked like over the network yet. As she spoke there was a bit of a growl to her voice.]

I was warned that this happens to those in the Monster class on a full moon, but I did not expect the change to be like this...

[Another deep growl this one of annoyance]

I do not suppose any of the shops here have clothing that will fit for someone with wings and a tail?

[As for the question, Ace just snorts and rolls his eyes.] You care too much about clothes. When you said you weren't comfortable in the toga-thing I figured it just like me and shirts, they make me feel itchy and wrong. And without your armor it's all... exposed and you have to try harder to just be you. But right now, you've got dragon armor! Who cares what other people think about decency and whatever, so long as you're comfortable?

But you should use your wings while you have a chance! If it's only once a month, you don't want to be caught off guard with it and wishing, [In a terrible falsetto nothing like Rose's voice, especially now.] "Oh, if only I had practiced!"

[Rose backs away. The way he was waggling his fingers was a bit disturbing.]

And I feel naked when I am without either my sword or armor, and it is bad enough that I do not have a sword here. So needless to say, it is hard for me to get comfortable when I feel this exposed.

[She arches a brow at his voice.] You sounded like a dying cat...

[He rubs the back of his neck apologetically.] Yeah, sorry. Anything I can do to help?

[She shook her head some and flexed her wings a bit.]

They really do not feel that much different from the wings of my Dragoon armor. I think I can manage using them.

[It's just the tail might get in the way of things.]

My Dragoon armor, which I do not have here. Back in my world, I was the Dragoon of the Darkness Dragon. Though I guess now I am the Darkness Dragon here.

Why darkness?

Because I slain the Darkness Dragon back in my world, as a result darkness became my element of power. Merlin told me that if I had an element of power before arriving here it was possible that it would be easier to call. So during training, that was what I concentrated on calling.

Neat! Wait so you slew the darkness dragon to get its strength, but you don't think dragons should be eaten either? What gives?

I slew the dragon because its power was needed to win a war, and the only way a dragon willing gives up its power is if you slay it in battle. They are not some dumb beasts. They are intelligent beings, and it would have been disrespectful to eat her after defeating her in battle.

Lydia told me a story about a man in her world who made an entire island to hunt humans. It's still weird to me that food here isn't hunted. But I'm beginning to understand the ways of different places. Please forgive my ignorance, I'm still learning.

I would not exactly say it was a tradition since people do not usually go out to try and slay dragons.

[She gives a bit of a sigh.]

I am still trying to get used to this whole different worlds thing myself.

I thought it was easier 'cause I died, but not for you, huh? Did you travel a lot in your world?

Quite often actually. I must have seen every corner of my world.

And it wasn't super different all the time?

[She gives a bit of a sigh. She really hasn't told anyone here her actual age yet, even though it is likely one of the least odd things around here.]

I am much older than I look, so staying in one place for long was not ideal. People would start to notice that I did not age. I must have seen every corner of my world dozens of times. It stops being new and exciting after a while.

Oh damn, you're like Marco?

Your world must be really different from mine. Even islands next to each other can be so crazy different that this place seems kind of tame in comparison.

Who is Marco?

In my world, countries that are next to each other often have similar cultures.

I thought your fire magic was due to you eating a fruit back in your home world. But it sounds like your family has a thing for fire.

[she gives a bit of a shrug.]

I really did not put much thought into settling down. After thousands of years things just start to blur together. Sure time changes things. Kingdoms are always rising and falling, but it can become predictable after a some time.

Yeah! His is too! No no, he's not my blood brother. [A brief flicker of darkness, but it passes, covered over quickly with a forced laugh.] Our Pops adopted us! As adults. [Face scrunch.] Maybe not Marco, but me. Then again, maybe Marco, because that... sort of immortality thing, you know?

Uh, but he's not a thousand... wow. I think. Pretty sure. I have no idea. I'm not sure he'd tell anyone if he was. You must be... [.... There's no good way to say "lonely," there. Or to offer anything, even friendship, because Ace remembers how violent he was as a child and what he would have done to anyone who tried --]

I am not exactly that good with people... [She tends to be quite short with people most of the time.]

What do you mean by "nakama?"

I do not think I had anyone like that. During the last year on my world, I did meet new fellow Dragoons, but they helped me make sure my mission was finished for good. I am not sure if they would still associate with me even if I had lived after completing our mission.

[Though she would like to think that they would.]

That's still Nakama though. Some people are only crew for the length of a mission, but I can't imagine it not being forever.

My crew came to try to save me though. Even though I didn't want them to.
