[ The Doctor sat on the ground, his chalk coated fingers working over a drawing he was making on the pavement. Some of those who passed by tossed him a few coins as he did seem down on his luck with his baggy ill-fitting coat but he didn't pay them much mind at all. ]

You know what the trouble with magic is? It's so very capricious! It does more what it would like to do than what you would like it to do!

[ But he stood up, paced around his drawing and gave his new magic a try anyway. ]

Though only made of chalk you may be,
A little magic could set you free!

[ He watched closely as the chalk drawing on the ground did absolutely nothing! Finally the Doctor huffed, dropped his 'Tah dah' hands to his side and moved over to collect his mirror. ]

Oh well... can't win them all can you? I only thought to check in, see how you are all doing after that adventure. I should probably mention a friend and I have plans to go out again and take another look around. No need to worry if you don't hear from me for a while.

[ Suddenly his arm was tugged, jostling the mirror and the Doctor himself who turned to face a giant pink alligator with a green tutu. One of the drawings finally come to life. ]

You're late!

[ The alligator shrugged as the marching band made out of various sizes and types and colors of animals started to play an upbeat tune which seems to go well, encouraging both alligator and Doctor to dance along with the band, until a rabbit with a top hat broke ranks and snatched some carrots off a market cart. And a dog with an Oboe smashed a cat with a violin over the head with a stolen pumpkin. Then the happy little parade turned into a frantic food fight.

OOC: Feel free to have your characters caught up in the fray if you'd like to. ]

[Eleanor yawned, raking her fingers through her hair as she walked to work. She'd been summoned there and she still had to work. What kinda bullshit was that. She smiled as she thought about taking a nice nap in her office when a drum rolled past her.]

What the fuck?

[Confused, she turned, watching it continue down the street. It was only then that she heard the commotion. Turning again, her eyes widened as she took in the scene. Pure chaos and, in the middle, an unmistakable hobo.]

Doctor?!

[She walked forward, yelping as she jumped out of the way of the turtle who was vainly trying to catch up to his wayward drum.]

Why do I get the feeling you had something to do with this?

Eleanor!

[ He reached out to grab her hand and pull her quickly to the side of the road. ]

Hurry! Before they find the tomatoes!

[ The Doctor ducked behind an overturned cart, bringing the lady with him, and only once they were safely hidden did he take exception to her question. ]

And what makes you think I had anything to do with this?! I'm not always the one causing trouble!

[She gasped, but let him pull her with him. Following suit, she crouched behind the cart next to him.]

Tomatoes?! [She shook her head] No, but you're the only one I see here and this sure as shit looks like chaos to me. The only thing missing is the glitter!

[ No sooner than she had spoken did one of the tomatoes that had worried the Doctor slam into the leeward side of their hiding place and dislodge a torn bag of flour which sprinkled down on them like snow... or glitter. ]

Well, if you must know. I was attempting an animation spell... It should only have created a band out of a few chalk drawings, I've no idea how it went wrong!

[ He jumped to dodge a thrown lettuce. ]

[ And he leapt again like a rabbit to dodge a rutabaga. ]

[ Finally he dived for cover. ]

[ Said with just a touch of a 'I will smash a few in your hair the next time I see you' threat. ]

[ The Doctor exclaimed when some hapless passerby got nailed by an orange. ]

I was only trying to get them to play some music! I can't seem to get enough of it these days.

Really? You should jam with the older Doctor, he plays guitar. And said he'd teach me bass. And Michael and us were gonna go to karaoke!

I should like that... all of it sounds right up my alley, but do watch your head. They have discovered the watermelons!

[She yelped again, covering her head. Glaring at him, she tried to brush off the flour, only succeeding in smearing it across her face. ]

Why? Why did you think that was a good idea?!

[ So said with a mad laugh as the magical side effect of using this magic was beginning to kick in. ]

[ Luckily for her she looked cute with a smudge of flour on her nose! ]

Why do you say it like it was a bad idea? It was an idea... I had no idea it would turn out like this.

[She sighed, wincing as the stand was pelted by more fruits.]

I thought it might be like the stories and they would enjoy being in a band. It always works out that in the pictures. You've see those? The drawing comes to life for a song and dance number? They are charming movies!

[ Somewhere an apple cart was turned over and all the contents came rolling across the street at the pair hiding behind the overturned cart. ]

Stop them, yes, that would be a good idea. Well, they are only chalk... if we could wipe them away or get them wet some how, they ought to just fade away.

[Eleanor picked up one of the apples, standing up. ]

Watch where you're throwing shit you big ape!

[Then she threw it... At a big ape. What the fuck had her life become??

When she crouched back down what he'd said sank in.]

Water? Shit... Of course it had to be water.

[ He peeked up from his hiding spot and nearly caught a bunch of grapes in the eye. ]

If some one could distract them...

[ The big ape caught the apple in the back of the head and angered he did what any good ape would do, picked up a barrel of bananas and tossed them high into the air. ]

Oh no! Incoming!!

Oh, I see how it is! And just when I was going to try and rescue you with me.

[Mock sasses! But she whistles, and dances to get the attention and --]

[BOOKS IT.]

[Running as fast as she can and using a big of light magic to act as armor.]

[Eleanor suddenly had regrets.

But no time for that. She grabbed the Doctor but the front of his jacket and yanked him out of the way of the falling fruit.]

No! My element is water, dingus!

[She stood, surveying the scene in front of her. It seemed like all the animals were in the same area, now that the turtle had come back from retrieving his drum. ]

Maybe...

[She bit her lip, thinking. Could she fix this?]

[ The barrel smashed into the pavement where they had been hiding spilling it's load of bananas all over the place. ]

Is it?

[ He sounded surprised but may well have known that... after all it didn't really fit into his bumbling idiot facade if he went around pointing out he had noticed and hoped she might just use her powers to clean up this mess. ]

Well, maybe you could... I do hate to suggest it, but a rain storm might just do the trick.
