Oh, wait, blimey, I forgot about work. [facepalm!] Okay, soon as I get my shift schedule and find days off, THEN who's ready?

I'll have to pass for now, darling. I have a few things I want to do here- both magic related and not- before I jump back into the fray.

But assuming this is an open invitation, I'll take a rain check, hmm?

Now then, speaking of invitations, one of those things I mentioned is putting together a bit of a party to celebrate our safe return and first success, with Mal and Figment being somewhat the guests of honor, as it will be purple dragon themed. Do you think you'll be putting in an appearance? Or should I just make certain Ace doesn't eat the entire cake and save you a slice?

Ahhhh neither. [Slight wince.] Everyone thinks I love parties, but I honestly don't. I've never had a single party in my life things didn't go very pear-shaped and mildly miserable for me. They get overwhelming. Too many people at once, lots o' emotions, and if it's for Mal, well then she definitely will be happier without me making a stop-in.

So let Ace have all the cake he wants, I guess. Which one's Ace?

Ah well, suit yourself darling. Though if I let Ace have all he wants there likely wouldn't be any for anyone else. In the meantime, we'll just have to come up with something else fun to do a little later; after all, you know what they say about all work and no play, eh?

And Ace is that rugged-looking fellow with the orange hat and- much of the time- no shirt. He turned into a fire-based demon on the full moon.

[Giggles.] Mm. Adventuring isn't work, it's fun.

Oh right, yeah, him. He falls asleep in class a lot don't he? Which is weird because I don't think monsters have wishful magic.

[chuckles]

Something both fun and non life-threatening then.

And that's not magic, that's just him. Falls asleep at the drop of a hat, that one. It's actually rather endearing, so long as it doesn't happen at a bad time.

Not life-threatening for me.

What? How? Why?

It's life threatening for everyone, darling. Much as I wish it were otherwise.

[Well that wasn't quite the reaction he'd expected to Ace's narcolepsy.]

I'm afraid I didn't ask. He doesn't seem to be bothered by it at any rate, so we didn't really see it as a cause for concern.

Honey, we've all been pulled from our own worlds and given new magical powers to fight a mysterious force eating away at this one. I think 'weird' is to be expected.

[Though he does quirk an eyebrow at her insistence that nothing here was life-threatening for her.]

And why is that?

Guess so.

Bad Wolf. [And since even Rose realizes she won't be able to get away with just that...] I did something kind of insane to my own timeline. Half curse, half blessing, but it means I left myself clues to fight the darkness and prevent it from unmaking reality and myself. Anytime I would die, I intervened and left myself ways to fix that so I can still get the job done.

The Doctor that talks to horses is from beyond my time, which means I found him again in his past, my future. So anything that would kill me here I'll find a way out of, though usually with help.

It's kind of like... making a paradox work for you instead. I don't know how to explain it.

[Yeah, just... give him a moment to process that, Rose. Though he doesn't expect that it'll make much more sense even once he does.]

..If you say so, darling. But given what the Dreamfinder said about us being outside of our own worlds and times, and the fact that abilities from our own worlds don't quite work here, it may be best not to tempt fate overly much, hmm?
