[On the afternoon of the 21st, a message appears on the network.]

Hi everybody! I just wanted to wish you all a happy holiday and let you know that I'm going to be bringing a bunch of you each a present. Try not to knock the boxes around too much, OK? What's inside might break if you do.

[Later that day, a number of apprentices will find packages left on their doorsteps labeled To: (Their Name) From: Leia. The packages are smallish solid color gift boxes with a metallic sheen and are tied shut with a white ribbon. Inside, they'll each find a unique mug, along with a note explaining that Leia had used Wishful magic on the mugs so that whatever liquid is put in them- hot or cold- always stays the perfect temperature for drinking, and inviting them to try them out.

Dreamfinder and Merlin also get mugs (Figment gets a smaller one that matches Dreamfinder's) which will be delivered to them at the castle, either by Leia personally (if possible), or via being dropped off with the guards at the gates to be delivered by someone at the castle later (if not).]

((OOC: Mug recipients are:

Nate, Shadow Weaver, Jose, Beetlejuice, (movie) Lydia, Mal, Harry, Drake, Elena, Dreamfinder (and Figment), and Merlin.

Jose might also find himself in the possession of several otherwise plain-looking mugs that now do things like change color, play a little tune, or glow bright blue when filled with liquid: Leia's early experiments that didn't come out quite the way she wanted.

Feel free to have characters reply to the post either before or after they've received their gifts.))

Oh thank you for the mug, Leia. It is going to be a wonderful work companion while I am dealing with the final leg of the Holiday Sale at the Emporium. It is getting pretty busy over here.

Yeah, it is getting busy with the holidays fast approaching, a lot of people are buying gifts for loved ones this year.

(That reminds him of something: he needs to get Leia a gift as well. But what does a little girl want for the holiday season? And because he has been swamped with work, poor Harry didn’t have time to buy some gifts for fellow Apprentices too.)

Yeah, I always see a bunch of people there when I go past it. I'm glad I bought all the stuff I needed to get beforehand.

[No one would ever be able to spot the bitty in a crowded shop like that.]

That is great to hear. At least you’re able to find some gifts before things get really crazy as Christmas approaches.

Yeah. I didn't need too much stuff, just some boxes and ribbon, and some mugs to magic up. But I figured there'd be a lot of people, so I made sure to get it early.

Now that is a lot of dedication to go by. I am pretty curious on how you are able to infuse Wishful magic into the mugs as well.

I'm not sure how it works. But I think it's kinda like the magic Mal used to give me a blue stripe in my hair one time. Once you wish a solid thing up or wish it changed, it's not just gonna... stop being solid or changed. Stuff that's made of just magic though, yeah, that doesn't last long.

It is good to see you are getting better with your powers, though I admit, I was not aware of this holiday. They don't exist on Etheria, and whatever ones are celebrated now I assure you I no longer take part in.

You must've noticed that something was happening, what with all the decorations and stuff.

[Main Street was always cheerfully decorated for each holiday, after all.]

{Drake was brought up better than texting or phoning a thank you. He was brought up writing thank you letters. But with childhood poverty came a dislike for unnecessarily paying postage, and with several phDs came having far too little time to spend writing letters. So here he was, posting live before he was finished adjusting his frame, one hand partially covering the field of view as he tilted it back and forth, and the other holding his new mug, which already had steam drifting up from it.]

Oye! Princess! Now this- [He interrupted himself to take a swig of hot, sweet java.] -this is-is...it's really very clever, thank you. You said you used Wish magic, yeah? The handbook says Wish magic doesn't last, so does that mean the effect'll eventually fade away? I mean, just curious, it's still a marvelous cup, enchantment or not.

And I'm not sure; it might wear off eventually, but the first ones I made as a test still work, so...

[She shrugs. Even if it wears of eventually, it's still a nice mug.]

I'm not quite sure how it works, but I used my magic to change the mug and make it magical. So my magic only needed to last a little bit; after that, the mug does it by itself. It's sorta the same kinda magic that Mal used to give me a blue stripe in my hair one time. So unless something else happens to it, it should keep working for awhile.

I was under the impression that any effects of Wish magic fell under the rules that it wouldn't last long. But perhaps that's only applicable to conjured objects, tangible....manifestations of magic. But if you already have an object, and you perform magic on it.....

... Excuse me. Thank you again.

[And he abruptly cuts the feed.]

[Leia is about to mention that stuff she Wishes up usually stays, as long as it's a solid thing and not an illusion, but Drake hangs up before she can. So she just shrugs and shuts off her end too.]
