[ She looked almost shy as she flipped on her mirror for the fist time but soon brightened as the magical device worked as it was meant to. ]

Hello. This is my first time using one of these magic mirrors, can you really hear me?

It's nice being able to communicate with others even if you are far away from them.

[ It was less lonely. ]

Magic here seems... different. A few weeks ago I spent much of my time living inside a giant bowl of ice cream. Do things like that happen often?

....and, yeah, our kidnappers screwed with our own powers. Because they don’t want us fighting back or something.

Do you think so? If they didn't want us fighting back they could have left us powerless. It might have been for the best if they had.

I was told we were meant to use our powers to fight against the corruption? Was the corruption what caused everyone to shrink?

Some power is better than no power, but, I haven’t figured out our hostage keepers just yet.

I dunno. I just spent the day eating a candy bar that was three times my size and passed out in the empty wrapper. Worse things have happened to me, so, I just rolled with it.

They seem less like hostage keepers and more like very desperate people to me.

[ She had only had a very passing meeting with Hades. ]

It wasn't so terrible living inside a giant sundae either but I was wondering if that was what we should expect from this world.

Oh, they're desperate. Doesn't mean they haven't taken people from their homes for their own ends.

Weird stuff happens from time to time. I had to dance all day one time. It was actually pretty entertaining.

I wasn't arguing that they should have been kidnapping anyone but I do feel sorry for them. It can't have been an easy choice to make.

[ Or so she assumes for who would kidnap anyone if there was another way? ]

Dancing doesn't sound too terrible. Has anyone every been harmed by the magic?

Aside from the corrosion stuff? Nothing more than pride.

Some people are pretty happy here.

[If he were perfectly honest, he'd be counted among those that were happy. Two versions of Lydia, visible to everyone, and a job that put him square in the limelight.

Oh yeah, definitely wouldn't have been able to survive that.

No, not that I was aware of, it was just something that happened. It's strange too, because usually the only ones of us that experience a radical change like that are the ones who have the monster class during the full moon.

I feel bad for them. It can be very difficult when your magic can't be controlled.

I never really understood why its only them though. They seem to have a stronger affinity to magic, but it's not any less out of control than our own when we first start out.

That seems to be the way it is all over. Some people have a stronger pull with magic... Is there no way to help them too? Does the training not help?

Of course it does! But really, missions tend to be the best way to really test out your magic and abilities, and it helps to have a team with you mixed with newbies and those who have gotten pretty good with their abilities. That way you can compensate where one might be weak.

Everyone working together does sound nice. That didn't actually happen during that shrinking episode but I might have been difficult to find inside that giant ice cream.

But you'll have the chance for a real mission soon I bet. I'm trying to actually coordinate one with a few friends of mine.
