[A video comes on the network and what is shown instead of one of the Apprentices it shows a large black dragon looking down into the mirror. The sight would have been scary if it wasn't for the colorful flower crown on its head and chain going around it's neck. Looks like Rose is full dragon this full moon]

Well, not my normal transformation but this better for what I had in mind... [At least she can still talk. Her voice is surprisingly deep in this form. So deep, that those who don't know her, might think she was male.]

I am planning to fly over the Jungle to see if anything unusual is going on. Since I can actually carry someone while I am like this, and I am open to let someone to come along. Another set of eyes will be useful for something like this.

[Plus she can get someone to hold her mirror. It was a pain to open it with large claws.]

I am at the edge of town right now, so if you want to come along meet me here. I will wait thirty minutes before I take flight.

[ So she's finally got her mirror working and this is the first thing she's seen on it.

Despite any reservations she might have for such a reaction normally, she really can't stop herself this time. ]

There are dragons here!?

[ Jaw dropped. She's unsure if she's afraid, astonished, or awestruck. No one told her there'd be dragons here! ]

Well, yes, but I am not a real dragon. The only real dragon that I know of here is Figment and he has been missing for a while.

[Along with Dreamfinder, which is why she is going to do a Jungle fly over.]

I am really a Apprentice who is of the Monster class. We met at the gathering for all the new Apprentices. [Even Rose wouldn't go so far as to call that a real party.]

Amazing! It must feel incredible to soar through the air like that, and there cannot be much that can harm you like that either-- wait, we met at the gathering?

[ Well, it stopped her from gushing further. She met this dragon-person? They couldn't have looked like a dragon, but whoever it was just wasn't coming to mind. ]

Yes. Every Full Moon those of the Monster Class transform.

Though most of the time I transform into a dragon person, not a full dragon.

It is still incredible. I had only heard some stories of dragons before this, to see one... You as one, I suppose... I do not have the words to describe it.

Not really. You are from a different world so it is understandable.

Anything magical... Most magical creatures avoided humans, where I am from. So it is new for me to see anything like this even now. It is taking a great deal of getting used to.

It is the same for everyone who comes here. Some come for worlds where there is no magic at all.

For myself, there is magic in my world, but humans are unable to use magic unless they had an item that allows them to. [Like her Dragoon Spirit. But there was no point in explaining that now.]

Needless to say, it is interesting to use magic under my own will.

After several months, one gets used to it.

It is normal, at least. Every Full Moon those of the Monster Class transform. During a New Moon though, things are different. I usually end up sleeping through the New Moon.

What if you do not sleep through it?

It affects everyone differently. Most get very lethargic or depressed.

[weaver_of_lies]

Neither of those sound acceptable, but I guess I'd just try and sleep that off.

[Personally, Shadow Weaver was nocturnal so that might work out].

Acceptable or not, we really do not have any choice in the matter.

But yes, sleeping through it seems to be the best option in dealing with it.

How lovely. Of course, being brought here against my will, having no choice should already be the common theme.

In that case, what exactly is the asset of our class?

At least we all have the choice of not staying. If you do not like here, you are still free to go back through the mirror back to your own world.

For monsters our magic is mainly elemental based, and we tend to be heavy hitters when it comes to battle.

I was not made aware of that.

[NOR, apparently, was she aware of THIS. Elemental powers, and being a heavy hitter. That certainly changed things].

You will also need to work hard to gain the ability to use whatever element you can call to power. But if you used a certain element back in your home world, it may make things a bit easier for you.

[Ever seen a dragon arch a brow before? Well, now you have Shadow Weaver, though it's more of a brow ridge.]

Why do you say that? It is a bit ridiculous to assume something based on one's name.

I don't know about that. You can discern a lot from a name if you're into that kind of thing.

I was being facetious of course. I only meant our names sound like ones in fictional stories that have a great battle. Couldn't you see a great evil villain called Shadow Weaver? Very imposing.

It also sounds extremely cliché. Not the kind of stories I would be interested in.

I never said it was a good story, but certainly one of many. Far too simple for what actual conflict and magic is.

I have asked a few people before, and I wanted to ask you as well: how do you feel, about this place?

[Rose gave a bit of a shrug, which resulted in shifting her wings some.]

It is certainly interesting. I came to this world at the point of my death, so I really do not have much of a choice. It is either here, or the After Life for me. Personally I kind of like the idea of getting a second chance.

I cannot imagine what thing could kill you.

If such a thing happened, I do agree with that. The person I share a room with also met his demise where he is from, and is grateful to be here with his friend from home.
