[ The magic mirror displayed a scene of total chaos. A horse’s cart was halfway up a tree, in flames, and the horse that was meant to be the engine for the thing was running around loose sending people scattering off the sidewalks as it thundered by. Crowley held the mirror and looked back at the scene before walking away. ]

That could have gone better. Probably goes without saying I’m not going to be a carriage driver...

[ A small pause while the cart exploded and someone in the background screamed. ]

Anyone heard of--

[ He was suddenly interrupted by a little angry man who shouted after the demon, something about a wrecked cart, but it was difficult to hear anything but Crowley’s replies. ]

Pay you? You ought to be paying me! Like it’s my fault the horse doesn’t like demons! You never once said the horse doesn’t like demons!

[ Crowley waved the man off with a less-than-polite gesture and crash landed grumpily onto the nearest free bench, though with the panicked horse running wild most of the benches were empty. Most of the street too. People had piled into the nearest building which just so happened to be a candy shop. ]

As I was trying to ask before I was interrupted, anyone else heard of any other job openings? Not having the best of luck with it... I would have done fine as a driver but that horse--

[ He was interrupted again before he could continue. Crowley snarled as he turned to glare at this new distraction but in doing so he ended up dropping his magic mirror. ]

-- Hours Passed before the Mirror flared to life again --

[ Unsurprisingly it was to bear witness to another scene of chaos this time one of children and their parents frantically snatching up every boxed or bagged candy they could lay their hands on while one demon clad in uncharacteristically in white and sporting a lovely red striped bandanna carefully watched over their every action from behind the counter. ]

Everybody in here better be buying something or you are going back outside and trust me you don’t want to be out there with that horse still on the loose!

Oh they do have flavors. Pink is bubble gum, blue is blue raspberry... orange is orange, they weren't so creative with that one but it would be good if you like orange.

[ Or they make a new batch every morning at least. ]

I have a feeling eating something that tastes like gum but doesn't have the texture would be.... pretty disgusting. I tried some gum yesterday and... well, to be honest, that was awful, too. So much chewing with so little of an actual point! And they don't even swallow it!

Also, when you say it tastes like orange, do you mean the fruit, or the actual color? I don't think I can taste color anymore.

You've never had a gum flavored soda or you wouldn't think that.

[ Those things were good! Little strange at first, but tasty. ]

Also how can a color even have a flavor??

Which would you say is better? The soda or the popcorn?

... As for colors having flavors... Come on, you know what red tastes like, don't you? Like...nostalgia and good weather. Purple tastes like hate. Never eat anything purple.

The soda... but the popcorn would be really good at breaking up a dull movie.

Red doesn't taste like anything! Not the color itself! Now some people might say 'red' when they mean 'cherry' but that's not the same thing. And why would purple taste like hate? I'd think that would be black... or even green. I suppose green is envy though?

Do they even have movies here? I wouldn't mind seeing one, even if it was dull.

[this is yet another reminder that they do not come from the same holes in the IHOP. were Crowley the same sort of eternal being he is, he could totally taste red. he shrugs it off]

I think this is another one of those "we're from slightly different dimensions" things. But no, black is antimatter, and what it tastes like depends on if you drink it straight, or you add cream and sugar. And green tastes the way new car smells, you either love it or you hate it.

They must! They don't have any clubs and these people have to do something for fun.

Oh, I think I'd like green then. Nothing like the smell of a new car. I would steer clear of the antimatter... matter, antimatter, tend to explode when they come together.

And no bars for karaoke, either! I was so disappointed our first night here. I really wanted to go and sing some Bon Jovi. It's a really great distraction when you're stressed out, if you've never tried it. That, and crane machines.

If I ever find anything that tastes like green here, you'll be the first to know. I love antimatter, though, it's great stuff. I did all my term blueprints on antimatter. Decaf, though - ugh, no reason for it.

Yeah... no karaoke... big, big loss that.

[ He wouldn't miss that at all! Some how people who couldn't sing always seemed to think they could on karaoke night. ]

Its something to consider though, a new car scented candy, I wonder if anyone would be interested.

[no one had told Michael he couldn't sing, so he just assumed he could. and he could, if you could consider what Rex Harrison did 'singing'. same sort of thing. ... well, you'll see later, most likely]

You could give it a whirl! I mean, why not, right? You never know until you fail spectacularly. .... Wait, no ... I'm pretty sure I got that wrong.

Right, fail spectacularly... Demons really aren't good at inspiring others.

Awh, nutsacks. I knew I didn't get it right. I really do think you could try it, though. If nothing else, I'd have at least a few of them. I bet you could get Aahz to have some, too.

Maybe. If I ever get around to making candy. Right now I'm just manning the counter.

Aspirations for a candy shop? Ha! Hardly... I'm just doing this until a better opportunity comes around.

Like what? The humans' idea of retirement? [he grins] Getting paid to sit around, watch daytime television, and yell at kids to get off your lawn?

Maybe. It's better than your form of retirement.

[ Only he might not yell at the kids as much as he would play with them. ]

[there's a bellow of "MICHAEL" faintly from the background, and he meerkats]

Ooh, my manager's looking for me... I should probably go straighten more things on shelves for a while. Talk later?

Yeah, you run along. Wouldn't want to get caught doing something you shouldn't.

[ Which he said ironically as doing the wrong thing was what Demons really ought to be doing! ]
