[ The early morning scream was followed by another terrible crash as a trunk fell from its window sill and came to rest on the floor. A naked lady sat within the confines of the wooden box but fortunately for all involved only her legs and bare shoulders could be seen as those bits had forced the lid to pop open and were now hanging free over the lip of the trunk. ]



I -- I don't understand! Did some one's spell go wrong? Brr, it's so chilly! And... OW!

[She shifted around until as managed to pull one of her stored walnuts out from underneath her... Only then did she notice the second problem with being human and in a trunk. She tried to wiggle to the left... or to the right... but found herself only able to flail her far too long and fur-less legs uselessly. ]

I'm stuck!

Er, well, no probably not. [he takes her hands and pulls her out with a little grunt. Hopefully she doesn't end up awkwardly entangled in his arms in such a way as to spawn a thousand fanfics and at least one embarrassing meme]

But please, out of respecting humanoid culture and my mental capacity, put this on. [and he wiggles the dress at her]

[ She had been fairly well wedged in that chest and so she might have ended up pressed up close to him once she finally popped free... so maybe a few memes and half a dozen fics or more, had anyone actually been around to see the very brief meeting before she gathered up the large poofy dress. Bright yellow with bright purple flowers... she tsked the choice but it could have been worse. At least those colors looked very springtime together. ] You said you recognized the human I am? [ For all people on two legs were human, right? She asked as she struggled with the mounds of crinoline the skirt seemed to be made up of. ]

She's my friend, and not exactly human. So if you feel something odd, it's probably that. [and then just in case some subconsciousnesses were still lurking]

Everything about this day had been odd... [ And she might have the painful indentation on the back of her thigh where some bit of furniture she had been sitting on had been jabbing her... but she decided it was best to leave that unsaid. ] Certainly not! [ She frowned over her shoulder at the Doctor as she pulled the heavy dress up over her shoulders. ] Why would you even ask something like that?

Because you are in a centuries old body with a multilayered subconsciousness and not all of that subconsciousness has been nice.

[he snapped it. Then realized what he'd done and took a breath]

Sorry. Listen. This is a bit of a trying time. If I ask you questions you're insulted by it's because I'm trying to prevent something unfortunate from happening. I hope you can understand and be honest.

[ She very nearly ducked behind a chair when the Doctor snapped at her, but she could understand. If he were trying really hard to protect his friend or even other people... Brisby couldn't really be upset over that. So she did stop and think, as if she could search this borrowed mind for what ever a multilayered thingie was. ] "Aside from the body I seem to be myself. How would I know if I wasn't alone in here? I'm not having any strange thoughts."

If you feel nothing, then it's fine. [he said it as gently as he could] But if you feel anything is strange, even if you think it's nothing, please tell me.

[ His much softer tone was so much kinder sounding that she did relax due to it. ] Al--alright, I will. I promise. [ She then turned to indicated the back of the dress which while it was on still seemed too open and chilly in the back, likely because the zipper hadn't been done up yet. ] Now maybe you would be kind enough to tell me if this is right? Should the back be hanging open like that?
