[he stands in front of a window, winter light streaming in around him and highlighting his white wings. Clever people may notice he's added another ring, silver and black on the fourth finger of his left hand as he folds them in front of him and beams. More than his usual polite interest, his eyes are shining and he looks positively radiant and may, in fact, be glowing just a hair.
When he speaks, his voice is like warm honey]
Hello, I'd like to take the time to welcome all the newcomers to our lovely little situation. It may seem odd and even frightening to be so far from home. You may feel overwhelmed by the task ahead of you and that you may not be able to accomplish healing the corruption that has blighted this land. But I can assure you, it's possible. Some of it has already been cleansed and purified.
How, you may ask?
Why, through our efforts. As a unit. As a group. A team even. Everyone has value and worth here. We are all able to contribute. And there are many here who would help you and guide you to settling in. Finding your way. I'd call upon Lydia if you needed a ready mind and an open ear. Or Eleanor or Richie if you wanted someone to drink and commiserate with. Michael is always splendid to talk to. If there are any children among you, Webby [goodness, what a name] and Leia are wonderful playmates. [so he assumes]
And there are plenty of others here to help.
As for me, I am your local librarian. [his grin widens as this is very new and not even Crowley knows it yet] The selection here is rather small and limited at the moment, but feel free to come in and browse and check out [his wings twitch a little at that] at your leisure. But do see the books are returned in a timely manner. After all, I know where you live. [a smile as if it's a joke]
To that end, I am offering a slight commission for any one who can bring me a book that they find in the wilds or wherever. If you're interested, please take stock of what the library already offers. I'm not interested in copies of mundane things here, but other sorts of books. They don't necessarily have to be non-fiction, but any sort of spell work, spell craft or magic theory that you can find I will pay top dollar for. And also limited or first editions.
[he is not sure where he'll get the top dollar, but nevermind]
Aside from that, welcome to all who have come.
If you have any questions or wish to seek the personal attentions of the head librarian, my consultation hours are posted on the office door.

Date: 2020-01-14 12:32 am (UTC)"It wasn't a complaint, angel."
He drew close to Aziraphale's ear, still smiling as he nipped the edge of his jaw.
"I like hearing how well appreciated my work is."
no subject
Date: 2020-01-14 05:34 am (UTC)And then huffed a little more. And then made just the tiniest sound when his jaw was nipped. A little sigh at the words in his ear. Barely noises at all really.
But, oh, he was impossible. This was impossible.
He wanted to show just how resilient he could be! How much mettle he had! To not make a sound no matter what was done to him.
But then--! Those pleased words. That flare of those achingly beautiful wings... Oh, it just made him want to be louder. To show his pleasure more obviously. To squirm against him and melt in his arms.
"Well!" He did squirm a bit and then glowered, pouted more, up at him. "I am just saying that, if I needed to be silent. If I wanted to. I could. I am in fact quite capable of being silent whenever. Just so you know. Just so you realize."
Then he took Crowley by the gorgeously tailored lapels.
"Now shut up and pay your debt." And he pulled him in for an open mouthed kiss, determined to get more sounds out of the demon than any that could be gotten out of him.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-14 07:06 am (UTC)"Oh yeah, quiet as a church mouse you are."
He teased again, totally pressing his luck but there was a game to be had in winding the angel up too. He won that squirm and those lovingly accusing glares, so warm in their new familiarity that he closed his eyes and sank into the touch. He was still basking in their verbal sparing when he was roughly pulled down into the kiss.
Now demons were masters at being quiet. They went about sulking in the darkness, slipping through the shadows, never seen and never heard... unless they wanted to be. Crowley wasn't really in their same league. He played his music way too loud, spoke boisterously in bars when drunk, and revved his engine far too often, so he actually gasped a startled hum when his mouth was invaded that suddenly. Anything more than that would of course have been muffled by the kiss itself.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-15 05:41 am (UTC)It was odd how easy this was. How easy to fa-- to...to let himself be swept along by it. The heat of the moment, the warmth of Crowley, the familiar and nostalgic smell of him. He wanted to curl his wings around the demon and pull him in. Lavish his body with kisses until there were more startled hums. Among other things.
He honestly hadn't suspected he'd want anyone quite this much and yet-- it was as easy as breathing. In fact he wasn't quite sure he could stop.
But he did pull away a little, stealing that hat to run a hand through the red hair and give it a tug.
"What do you say we look at this room and then find somewhere a little more..." he licked his own bottom lip absently as he looked at Crowley's and then back into his eyes. "Comfortable."
no subject
Date: 2020-01-15 06:19 am (UTC)Just as the angel was. Aziraphale's pulling away was pure torture after that kiss, after feeling their bodies held fast together against he door. He couldn't even think to protest the stealing of hat hat or the ruffling of his hair... both of which were offenses to good Victorian fashion sense, but that Crowley wore with an unimaginable delight and a firm grin.
"After you keymaster."
One more room then... though he didn't expect they would really find anything, especially if they did keep carrying on this way. And he did very much wish to continue carrying on this way!
He waited until the door was opened and then followed Aziraphale on in, making sure to stay unreasonably close just so he could ruffle the angel's feathers with a free hand before he dived into a cardboard box to paw through it.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-15 06:34 am (UTC)"Oh!" He startled a little at the feather ruffle. That cad.
There weree other things in the room. Cupboards. Dried hanging plants-- long past dried more dead in the air. Overturned bookshelf or two yes yes. Quite intriguing.
But even moreso that narrow back and the proud dark wings arching from it.
Hmm.
He casually made his way over and leaned in a bit.
"Do tell me if you find anything, won't you, darling?" And he gave a ticklish pinion or two a little tug before turning back himself to investigate a curiously carved wardrobe.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-15 06:50 am (UTC)"GAHH!"
It was absolutely impossible not to yelp quite nearly in a High C when those pinions were tickled. Oh! That had sent a sudden coil of sensation racing down his back all the way to his toes and it had sent nearly every feather in both wings curling up towards the ceiling. Crowley glanced back at the retreating angel, wearing his hat no less, and doubtless looking as wicked as it he had just finished off the last slice of cherry pie.
"Cheek."
He looked back to that dusty old box only after watching that proud strut of Aziraphale's a little longer.
The cardboard was as old and as dusty as the contents inside but in the very bottom there was... an old dried up disgusting sponge.
"It's like some abandoned witches house."
Crowley decided as he glanced at the shriveled plants hanging upside down in the window.
"Never understood that. Why keep dead plants when you could have live ones?"
no subject
Date: 2020-01-15 07:01 am (UTC)"I'm sure I don't know what you mean, Crowley." He fluttered his eyelashes at him and opened the wardrobe, stepping back as a few moths flew out. Nothing was left in there but a few scraps of fabric. "Dear lord I hope not. I think we've had quite enough of witches." He tentatively patted around the back of the cupboard for any kind of secret and was disappointed.
"I'm sure I don't know. Horticulture was never my thing. I could barely manage to keep the estates hedges trimmed. Had to use a miracle or seven let me tell you."
no subject
Date: 2020-01-15 07:09 am (UTC)The demon huffed as he moved away from the box and poked about in what might have at one time been a trunk with ladies hats inside it.
"I had to drop my handkerchief to distract one of the family's body guards when you decided to miracle those petunias in. Red was a nice choice really."
Some of these had been straw which had not held up well at all, some other had been decorated with more of the dried flowers... so maybe that was what this room had once been, a hat making studio. It was a real mess now whatever it had been!
"Aw," Crowley sighed as he held up what had likely been a very fine black bonnet at one time. "Shame they let this go to waste."
no subject
Date: 2020-01-15 08:09 am (UTC)"Hm?" His wings perked. "Oh yes. It's lovely, dear. Why not keep it? Certainly no one else is going to use it. He was tempted to go over just to get an excuse to brush feathers, when he spotted something under a dusty corner of carpet.
"What is this?" Bending himself, he gingerly pulled the carpet aside and spotted--
"Oh!" His wings flared. "Well, what a place to leave this!" It was a book. He picked it up. It looked rather worn. "The Journal of Pecos Bill... Well... How very odd." He opened it very carefully and peered at it. "No one I've heard of. Have you?"
no subject
Date: 2020-01-15 08:34 am (UTC)"Nah... I think its only good for horses now."
He dropped the thing back into the trunk and sauntered over to glare at the book over Aziraphale's shoulder. Glare, it was more of a loom really... a loom in which his hands wound their way around the angel's waist for a hug while he was otherwise distracted with his find.
He had actually heard that name before. An older movie, 90s era... but it had been years and the details were vague. It wasn't something one rewatched like Bond movies.
"Eh, its a Western. Can't remember much more about it. Kind of a lame movie."
The neckline of Aziraphale's collar was slowly pulled aside so an evil taste could be taken of his neck.
"That's just become a good deed."
no subject
Date: 2020-01-15 08:40 am (UTC)"What is a good deed? Volunteering information?"
no subject
Date: 2020-01-15 08:51 am (UTC)He said ever so triumphantly, but added with just a slight hint of teasing like they were school age youngsters with their first crush.
"And I'll carry it home for you."
And the wickedness being visited upon that soft skin wouldn't count against him in the least! So Crowley thought as he took up the invitation to nuzzle into the neck and press a few more kisses randomly here or there, where ever seemed most in need of a little demonic attention.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-15 05:29 pm (UTC)"Yes... I suppose you ought." He wasn't even sure what he was agreeing to, to be honest. He let go of the book with one hand to rest it over the ones wrapped round his waist, running a finger over the smooth band on the demon's finger and getting an odd little thrill.
"You'll be using a coupon then, I imagine?" There is just resignment in his voice and not at all hope or expectation or thrill.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-15 08:03 pm (UTC)His lips lingered over the angel's pale skin, loathe to move away but this room wasn't exactly as comfortable as their own might be. He gently moved out from under the angel's hand to take the book, then practically danced his way back towards the door.
"Maaaaaybe."
Biting his lower lip playfully he leaned briefly against the door-frame with an evil tease.
"You will just have to wait and see."
no subject
Date: 2020-01-16 05:48 am (UTC)"Well..." He sniffed and lifted his head. "You'd better make it a good one. They're non-refundable you know."
no subject
Date: 2020-01-16 06:18 am (UTC)"I've read them."
Which might have been the only book he would admit to reading from cover to cover.
"They are all good ones! I won't regret a thing."
He held out an arm, like Aziraphale were a lady in need of an escort.
"Walk you home, angel?"
no subject
Date: 2020-01-16 06:34 am (UTC)Would he?
"Which ones did you like best?" Perhaps he could get a clue as to the demon's intentions.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-16 07:06 am (UTC)Crowley rolled his head as they walked back down through the castle like he was actually trying to think up an answer. Of course he couldn't! Silly angel, that would ruin the surprise entirely! You were just going to have to wait and see.
"I like them all because every single one of them has to do with you."
no subject
Date: 2020-01-16 07:16 am (UTC)no subject
Date: 2020-01-16 07:47 am (UTC)Crowley claimed with a sly smile at his partner.
"Removes all the surprise. It's..."
He leaned close enough to speak the name near the angel's ear like a diabolical plot.
"...the long game."
no subject
Date: 2020-01-16 07:49 am (UTC)Two could play at this game.
He gave Crowley a long look which clearly said this was war, and then smiled.
"Quite right. We shall see who wins it."
no subject
Date: 2020-01-16 08:15 am (UTC)They could see who won the game but the war was already his.
"Defiant in the face of defeat. I've always liked that about you."
He laughed in a far more warm and tender way than he usually did. For it was true in a way. Good always lost to evil in the end but one had to admire that tenacity.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-16 08:27 am (UTC)How was beyond him. He was still working that part out.
...Except wait. He knew. He really did. But oh he shouldn't say it. It wouldn't be fair at all. But the assurance of his victory was enough to turn his pride into something far more smug.
no subject
Date: 2020-01-16 08:54 am (UTC)He might have spoken that tease just a little too loudly as they stepped out of the main castle gate for one of the passerbys suddenly choked on their latte. Not that he cared. The guy shouldn't have been listening in on a private conversation anyway.
Aziraphale had a cute smug. It was insufferable at times and something Crowley thought to nip in the bud, only... he didn't know what he was so smug about. Heaven winning the conflict over Earth had been easy, just mention all those human things the angel would no long be able to enjoy. This was a mystery.
"Penny for them? I still have one rattling around down there somewhere."
