smk_network[Leia thought long an hard before picking up her mirror. Both about whether or not to do it at all, and once she'd determined to do that, what she was going to say. And before she picked it up, she made an effort to make herself look as 'official' as possible, like her mommy did before giving a speech.
Thus, when she appears on the network, her dress is clean and mostly wrinkle-free, her usual pigtails have been exchanged for a more 'serious' single braid down her back, and she's sitting as straight and tall as she can. She takes a deep breath and begins.]
Some of you probably know me, but others of you might not. My name is Leia Organa, and I'm one of the Apprentices that was brought here to help fight the Corrosion. I'm also a Princess, back home and here.
A lot of stuff's happened the past day or so and a lot of it is still happening. I won't tell people not to be scared, 'cause it's a scary situation. Things are dangerous, and probably will be for awhile. But I am asking that everybody do what they can to help. Not just us Apprentices; everybody. Because when things are scary and dangerous, that's when people need to stick together and help each other the most.
Everybody who lives here has been doing a great job of that already. Even when bad things are happening everywhere else, you've worked hard to make sure Main Street stays a nice place to live. No one and nothing should be allowed to take that from you.
So I'm going to do whatever I can to help. I may not be the biggest or the strongest, but I've been practicing my magic, and I'm ready to use it to help anyone who's been hurt by what's going on.
[She gives a nod, indicating the end of her speech.]

This was also the first apprentice she learned about that shared her class.......................... A small child. Not sure how to feel about that. She was not going to share this part however over the open channel]
What I want to know..... shouldn't be discussed here. [This was becoming a theme among the cautious]

Date: 2019-11-02 12:22 am (UTC)I can't really get mad at somebody for wanting to help their world when it's in trouble. If Alderaan was in trouble like this world is, I'd do whatever I could to help too.
But I more meant that they didn't decide who the machine picks; it just does that by itself. Yeah, they made the mirror and everything, so I guess if you think that's bad you can say it's their fault. But it's not their fault that it brought you and me and the other Apprentices here instead of other people; they weren't controlling that part.

...There. I've made it so only you and me can see this now.
Like I was saying, I'm not 'content to be kidnapped'. I'm not 'content' to be anything. I decided to help the people here save their world, even though Mr. Dreamfinder was worried about me getting hurt. Yeah, it'd be easier and safer going home, and sometimes I really, really want to, but that's not as important as the fact that the people here need our help.
You can be mad about being brought here if you want. Lots of people are, 'specially at first. But Mr. Dreamfinder, Merlin, and even Hades... they're not bad people for doing the only thing they can to save their world. And I'm not going to let anybody say they are. I'm not gonna say that they should just... give up, and wait for everything fall apart, which is the only thing the people here can do without us to help.
I can't make you do anything if you don't want to. But no matter how hard or scary it is, I'm going to stay here and help for as long as the people here need me to. Because it's important. Because they're important.

Feh, well it wouldn't be easier or safer if I return home. [Finding it difficult not to get miffed at the impromptu speech from the petite inexperienced child. In fact it was borderline condescending. Still, she kept her input to a minimum until the girl came to a halt.] Are you finished? Don't answer that.
You've had your say, now it's time I had mine. I may be a princess here but in my realm I'm Queen. That title bears more responsibility than you might be able to appreciate at your tender age, however it means that I have an entire kingdom depending on me to ensure their well-being and safety- it's a position I take seriously and it's a function I'm currently unable to perform courtesy of this magic mirror business we've been arguing over. I have been told that time ceases to progress while we are gone, but I have no proof to ensure that this is true...
All the realms are still in the process of being restored after nearly being obliterated, these massive elemental dragons have awoken trying to finish what Ragnarok couldn't, and a cult of nutcases have had a resurgence who are currently trying to alter everyone's memories to force their own brand of peace into fruition... [Pausing to take in a sharp breath she continued] .. so forgive me if I might have other things on my mind.
My people- my allies- they need me every bit as much as this world might. [Then with a flip of one pigtail] ..... and I never said I wouldn't help. I'm just not pleased with the process.

Alright... I'm sorry if it seemed like I was saying that helping your world was less important than helping this one, cause that's not what I meant at all. I might not be Queen yet, but I will be someday, and I know just from being around my mommy it's a really hard job, even when things are peaceful. So it's good that you're still thinking about how to help your people back home.
If I was you, I'd probably want to go back home and help fix things too. But the thing is, if we don't stop the Corrosion here, it won't matter how much we fix in our own worlds; it'll eventually ruin all our worlds, like it's ruining this one. So I think it's more important to focus on what we can do here, right now.
...I can't really do anything to help Alderaan back home. Even though I'm a Princess, I'm still just a kid; I can't do anything important yet. But here, I can actually do something. That's why I got mad at you for saying I was 'content' to stay here, 'cause it sounded like you were saying I was trying to do what was easier, when it's really the opposite. I decided to stay here and help cause it's the only way I can help Alderaan and this world, even if it's a lot harder and scarier.
And... I'm sorry I got mad at you about Mr. Dreamfinder too. I guess I can understand why you'd be mad at him. But he really is a good person, and he's my friend. I guess... I'm just really worried about him and Merlin right now- and Hades too, I guess-, since they're in trouble. I just... felt like I had to say something to stand up for him, you know? I can't just let people say bad things about my friends when they can't defend themselves.

Had Hel known they could be locked she might not have avoided it so- though there might be nothing stopping their opponents from breaking through the protective wards anyway.]
You made it sound as if my desire to return home was trivial. [that much Hel clarified since it seems they had both misinterpreted one another quite frequently during the course of this conversation. Then she kept her peace as the youthful princess continued. Some of what was conveyed was repetitive, but from different sources. Hel had been told that the corrosion could find it's way to the other dimensions which was of some concern though she was unsure of the legitimacy of the claim.] ... and while you were defending your stance I read too much into it. [That made sense. When Leia mentioned how it would be easier to go home- she had meant it only in regards to herself whereas Hel had taken that to apply to both of them. Her admission was as close as she would near an apology of her own, though she did feel as if she was gaining a certain amount of respect for the young child. Most of her friendships had been forged through conflict if she was being truthful... and the fact that Leia was still considering her own people through her endeavors here was admirable.]
[She was also annoyed at Dreamfinder for being present when she had collapsed upon arrival but that really was outside of his control] .. You've known them longer than I have. [The way Leia spoke fondly of the people here reminded Hel of something Skuld would say in defense of her own friends. Sure Skuld could be naive at times... so Hel would still have to form her own opinions about the men in question but it endeared her a little more toward the foreign princess] I guess I get the position you were placed in.... [Shoot. Does this mean it was her turn to say something more positive or that would bring this to an amicable resolution?] Look- whether we like it or not really is irrelevant anyway. Not when there's so much at stake. [IE. Hel was going to have to get over her frustrations and focus. She was thrust into this world at possibly the worst time....]

Yeah, I guess that's right. Before we can do anything else we need to focus on figuring out how to stop the witches and save Mr. Dreamfinder, Merlin, and Hades. Cause if we don't, we'll all be in really big trouble.
[Especially Dreamfinder; she doesn't entirely understand the whole 'Kingdom Spirit' thing, but she understands enough to know that if anything were to take him out of the picture permanently it would be a Very Bad Thing, and not just because he's her friend.]
...Has anything like this ever happened where you're from? I don't mean exactly like it, just... bad guys using magic to trap important people?

On more than one occasion, actually. Magical seals are not a new phenomenon and Odin isn't the only one to make use of them. Before I arrived here I was almost placed under the seal of a magic circle myself.. drawn by the catalyst Morpheus. That was prevented by a counter spell.

Or do you think we'd be able to just break the balls to let them out once we got them away from the witches? The balls looked kind of like glass, after all, but it'd be hard to tell for sure with out seeing them up close.
