[Rose pans her mirror down from her waaaaay tall bicycle.]

I really hope that's true, because I don't much like my chances of getting back on it if I fall. Wish me luck!

[She sets out, and so far, so good.] Okay, so anyone else get jobs yet and all that? Give me sound my first night out, since I didn't wanna risk my cybud up here.

[Exclusively for her "roommates," there's a pair of cupcakes, one for 12 and Michael respectively. 12's is banana with edible ball-bearings, and Michael's is devil's chocolate with a paperclip. Both have messages.]

"Nope," Rose held her giant pole with a lit end. "Very very carefully," she stuck her tongue out the side.

[More evil giggles. Can't out-troll a human troll.] Pen, apple, apple-pen.

[ And the connection was lost as a pineapple and apple screensaver took up the entire screen. With bonus dancing pencil. Things rarely appeared for him the way they were expected to. ]

[Laughs.] Well, could be worse!

I think that sounds like a lot of fun. Wherever we find the karaoke, I hope they have a crane machine, too. I got pretty good at those. I could win you a pointless, vaguely misshapen stuffed toy!

[he will give her a message back, tucked against her pillow]

Yeah? You know, no one's ever done that for me before.

[She doesn't know how to feel about it. Is he trying too hard? Is she?]

[She's literally just not going to think about it. She uses it for a bookmark, studying their spellbooks and such, and even though she says she'll go to sleep, she finds herself waiting for him to come back. Like a dog. Jeez.]

"So cool," she said, craning her neck back for a good look. "Once I get a camera, is it okay if I take some pictures of you doing this sometime? I bet they'd come out great."

[bigbadrose]

"Absolutely," Rose stuck her tongue out the side, "I'm sure I'll be glowing!"

"Oh, that'd make for the neatest lighting! Do you really glow? Can I see?"

Really?!

[he finds that surprising]

Not Mickey or ... or the other one, even? The human ones? Well, then, I'll have to do it.

Huh... The lights in the apartments are electric. You'd think they'd upgrade the street lights...

[He puffed up a little at that, lifting his chin proudly.] Why thank you! I'm FULL of great ideas, and they always... [He trailed off, adopting a sudden sheepish expression.] Well, okay, they don't always work. But! You never know until you TRY it. Right?

Yup! I'm the accountant to the richest duck in the world, back home! [Not mentioning the fact that he knew nothing about accounting before being accepted, and learning most of it on-the-job.]

[he does come back at some point, late and looking exhausted. It's been a long day and he doesn't spot her right off as he stumbles toward the kitchen]

[Rose just watches him quietly at first, but then sneaks up on him, quiet as a ghost and whispers in his ear.]

Yeah! Not that I ever asked them to, and I was always broke so there was more important things to spend money on, but mmn! I'd like that. A lot.

I saw you on the bike. That's an old traditional job, you know. Though they used to use very long sticks.

Well... I'm glad they didn't. It's like the one job I don't hate.

Wow really? He's not evil, is he? I swear it seems like all rich guys are...

Rose tried valiantly, to no avail. "'pparently not on cue," she winced. Bet it'd make takin' pictures I'm me easier though."
