[Locked to apprentices] Backdated to evening of 10/19
[Eleanor looks quite a bit different than she did the last time she broadcast over the network. She looks furious. She's also filthy. Her hair is mussed and there are mud and grass stains streaking her shirt and face. One arm is being held a little stiffly as she holds the mirror aloft with the other. There are paint splatters on the wall behind her and other signs of the chaos the other apprentices had found in their rooms that day.]
Atem did this. He trashed our apartments and fucking threw Mrs. Brisby's home into the water outside. How do I know? Because he fucking told me. Oh, and before anyone calls me a snitch or whatever, he also told me to tell everyone. Mrs. Brisby is safe, she wasn't home. But what if he'd done something worse than just break our shit? I don't know what the fuck is wrong with him but someone better handle him before he does something worse.

[She sighed at the offer, giving her a tired smile.]
Thanks for the offer. Honestly, I don't know. I've mostly just gotta clean up here.
[Nope. Not mentioning the possible shoulder injury. Not at all. She doesn't know what you're talking about.]
no subject
okay eleanor, that stiff arm and the mess you're in toootally isn't telling at all, we believe you.) How about I assist you with that? I owe you thanks for helping me out the other day and as I've only just arrived, there wasn't all that much issue in my room.
no subject
You don't owe me anything. But sure, if you wanna help I'm in 8A. [A pause] Fair warning: if you haven't met Mrs. Brisby yet, she's a mouse.

no subject
Thanks. I was going for landfill chic.
[The living area was in pretty bad shape. Her clothes had been strewn everywhere, some of which even had spray paint on them. Broken dishes and cups scattered the floor, though those had mostly been swept into a pile.]
no subject
Is this a tiny dresser? ( it must have fallen from mrs. brisby's home. ciri leaned from where she'd taken up crouching to set it onto ... the chair she righted since there were still things strewn about. ) Mrs. Brisby's, I imagine. Unless you occupy your time playing with dolls. ( she glanced to eleanor. ) No judgment.
no subject
[She dumped an armful of clothes on the couch to sort through and find what could be salvaged.
Turning, she looked over at the dresser.]
Yeah it's Mrs. Brisby's. Is it broken?
no subject
( after a moment she added: ) How's that arm doing with all the lifting involved in this mess? Why don't you allow me to carry most of that burden for you?
no subject
[She gestures over to the rather damp trunk by the window.
The question takes her by surprise. She winces a little, looking sheepish.]
You don't have to. I think I'll be okay. I think. Fuck, I don't know. [She sits on the couch next to her pile of clothes, sighing.] I've never been hurt like this before. And I did it to myself.
no subject
Oh, hello. I didn't realize we had company.
[ The table was littered with little bits and pieces of furniture on a towel, all of them left out to dry while she worked on the trunk's interior. ]
no subject
no subject
Yeah, sure, you can take a look at it. I just didn't want to bother any of the healers right now. They've got more important things to worry about.
[She smiled over at Mrs. B.]
She offered to help us clean up. Well... mostly help me clean up the rest of this place. We'll get it back to normal in no time.
no subject
The last time we met you were much shorter and orange. The spell must have worn off? I am glad!
[ Having these large mousy ears the rest of the conversation hadn't exactly gone unnoticed either... Fair share of wounds and solo treatment? Don't want to bother any of the healers? What were the girls talking about? ]
You wouldn't be bothering me. I think I have done just about all I can do until everything dries out. Were you hurt?
no subject
oops! the large ears were for the better to hear them with, huh? she nodded toward eleanor but motioned to mrs. b ) Either or, as long as someone looks over the injury. I'd hate knowing you're in pain whilst trying to tidy up.
no subject
[She has questions... But in the meantime she slumps on the couch, raising her hands.]
Okay, okay I give up!
[She sighs, wiping a hand over her face before looking at Mrs. Brisby.]
I didn't want to worry you. I saw Atem outside. He was gonna help me with your trunk but then he freaked out and told me he did this. I lost it and attacked him. Except my aim sucked and I hit myself in the shoulder...
no subject
[ She explained before darting to the end of the table and looking for a graceful way to make her way over to Eleanor, only... finding out who trashed her place stopped her. ]
Atem did? He seemed so polite... why would he have wanted to destroy my home?
no subject
as mrs b headed toward eleanor, ciri leaned down to take up some of the clothing to look for stains on them, beginning to sort them into piles of "keep" and "try to clean this shit out somehow." )
Appearances can be deceiving, so I'm told. Perhaps it was facade?
no subject
Yikes. Yeah they hit me, too, but I didn't get turned into anything. Guess I was lucky.
[Sighing, she shook her head, looking between the pair.]
I don't know. He seemed confused, almost like he was remembering that he did it. I don't know if someone put him up to it, or someone was fucking with him, or what. All I know is he did it and we should be careful til we know what's going on.
no subject
[ She decided as her little feet landed on the carpet. ]
There are still the witches to worry about and their spells, whether Atem meant to do any harm or not.
[ A minute later and she was climbing up the furniture to sit next to Eleanor's shoulder on the backrest of the sofa. ]
Now I think I could do something about this injury.
[ If she wasn't stopped she was going to sing, a light song in her sweet mousy voice that contained the notes of healing magic. ]
no subject
Fair point. ( she nodded. ) We should focus on how to at least subdue them if nothing else. Magic doesn't necessarily mean a trump card in the end. ( atem was, honestly, the least of their worries at the moment. he had done something shitty and ciri had no doubt that people would have a tête-à-tête with him for it but the sisters were really the "prize" they should all have their eyes on. still, he was the topic of conversation and given they were tidying from his mess, well, there may not be a subject change in sight for a minute at least.
she left the medicinal needs to mrs. b since she was able to do more for eleanor than herself. she instead focused on separating clothes. ) Confused? Perhaps he was in an altered state of mind. I know some people who can do some pretty awful things just from losing their temper alone. Maybe Atem had something happen to him that caused him to see in red, so to speak. Not that it makes a difference, really. It was still asshole-like behaviour.
no subject
Yeah... I got a nasty boil on my face. I think I got off the easiest of anyone.
[She sighed, looking up at Ciri]
I don't know. I don't know him as well as some of the others, but this seems super unlike him. He's always so nice. And, yeah, they say 'it's always the quiet ones' but I don't know...
no subject
Those witches have all this really powerful magic... I don't see why they feel the need to waste it like they have been. Don't they ever get tired?
no subject
I've known him for a long time. He might be impulsive, and infuriatingly lucky, but unless he's changed fundamentally in the time we've been apart he would never scare or hurt someone unless they were a clear threat.
Could the witches have done this?
no subject
I don't know. Maybe. Maybe they did something to him or maybe he just lost his fucking mind. All I know is what he told me.
no subject
He's far too committed to being a hero to ever do something like this of his own volition.

Do you know where he went after you spoke to him? [The vandalism might have been harmless and juvenile for the most part, but the culprit should be apprehended. Noting Eleanor's appearance prompted a swift follow up question.]
Did you two get into an altercation?
no subject
I don't know where he went. Honestly, I was so pissed I didn't trust myself after... [She winces slightly] I attacked him. I didn't totally mean to, I just... I didn't know where Mrs. Brisby was and the thought that he could have killed her... I fucked up and hit myself, too, but I think he got the worst of it.
no subject
It's not like he didn't deserve it. [Not fully understanding her hesitation] .................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................
You hit yourself? [That was a level of incompetence Hel wasn't expecting.. Her blank stare said what her words refrained from voicing] .... Are you in need of healing? [Hel might not be able to pull it off... but... well.. she did have that one training session under her non existent belt]
no subject
I didn't mean to. I made a water spout behind me. When I let go of him I didn't move far enough away and it hit me in the shoulder. This shit isn't an exact science, you know.
[Yes, she's horribly embarrassed, why do you ask?]
Maybe a little... Think you could manage it?
no subject
[Magic just needed time and dedication to be mastered. You could get it down to a fine art.]
............................................... [Oh that question. The one Hel should have been prepared for and wasn't. Saying no would be admitting to her shortcomings, but Eleanor was there for her training... she already knew how inexperienced she was.]
It depends. [On the extent of the damage, and whether training in her spare time had helped]
no subject
[She nodded at the question.]
I get it. It's nothing major. I hit the ground pretty hard and rolled, so it looks worse than it is
no subject
[Their roles had been completely reversed. Hel used to be distinguished in her magical accomplishments and she had taken on the occasional student when the situation called for it (such as with Passo, the young elf who couldn't control her powers and was always being followed by storm clouds) and Eleanor had been an average human]
Then why the Helheim not. [She could give it a shot] Where are you currently?
no subject
I'm in my apartment. 8A.
no subject
I'll be there shortly.
[When Hel arrived- no matter what condition the door might have been in she knocked on what was available]
no subject
It's open!
[The place was a chaotic mess. Eleanor was trying to sort out the clothes that had been strewn around the room, making piles of those that were clean and those that had been stained with spray paint. There was spray paint splotched over the walls, dresser drawers over by the kitchen and broken plates and glasses swept into a pile. She gave the girl a wave with her good arm.]
Hey, come on in.
no subject
and might be where some of her prejudice originated. Frigg had crossed a line Hel couldn't. Reaching out she opened the door and stepped inside.]At least the door made it out alright...
[Was that an attempt at levity? Maybe. Everything else looked utterly trashed. Then expelling a huff she added:]
If I hadn't been stripped of my powers, I could fix this in no time. [Repair spells were ... or had been so basic to her. Crossing the space between them she motioned to a chair.] You should probably be seated for this, and I don't make any guarantees.
no subject
[Eleanor smiled, shaking her head. Granted, the door wouldn't stop most of the people in this place but it was something.]
What kinda powers did you have back home?
[She shoved some clothes off the couch onto the floor and sat down. She trusted Hel enough not to fuck her up...much.]
[same lock]
He's been handled. And judging by the rather mad expression on his face when I caught him tearing up his and my room, he was most certainly not in his right mind; it may have been his hands that did the deed, but someone else was clearly pulling his strings. And I think we can all guess who the unseen puppeteer is.
And in any case, we mustn't begin fighting amongst ourselves; that's precisely what those horribly gauche witches want us to do.
no subject
Thanks for letting me know. When I saw him he just seemed like him. Then he went off confessing that he'd done all this shit and I just fucking lost it!
[She pauses, looking at him.]
You okay?
no subject
And I'm alright; our dear Lydia has impeccable timing and assisted me in subduing him, and we've set Mothra to watch him until the spell can be undone. I'll be much better, however, once we've sent those witches packing. They've more than worn out their welcome.
no subject
[She was just agreeing with him, right?]
no subject
And are you alright Eleanor darling? You seem to have gotten a bit roughed up in spite of Atem's mental state at the time.
no subject
Mostly. I kind of attacked him and managed to hit myself, as well. I'll be okay.
no subject
As long as you're alright then, darling.
In any case though, the immediate danger has been dealt with. Once we tidy up, we can get back to the real business at hand.
