You 'offered training' which consisted of powerless people being attacked by hellhounds... groups were sent on these 'volunteer' missions without the proper gear and equipment, some didn't even know how to use any magic... You may not have twisted any arms by leveling threats but you did bring us all here without asking and scared them all into being obedient little soldiers for you with all that corrosion talk!
And maybe you don't really care about these people you've kidnapped. Seems that way to me. They are just expendable volunteers after all.
