Hi everyone! I heard we got a bunch of newbies, so if we haven't met, I'm Webby Vanderquack! I've been here a while, so I figured it's time I really took advantage of all the different people here. See, one day, I'm going to be the best adventurer - slash - spy - slash - explorer, and to do that I need to know absolutely everything about everything!

Plus, I like learning stuff. It's fun!

[Now she begins trying to balance on one hand, then goes back to the other hand.]

Back home, just being with my friends taught me all kinds of things! Dewey taught me about sledding, Huey taught me about the Junior Woodchucks, Louie taught me how con free juice, and Lena taught me how to take no prisoners in a pillow fight.

So what I'm asking is, what do you think you can teach me? I'll take lessons on anything! Weaponry, martial arts, cooking, sewing, photography, hacking, fashion, basket-weaving, lion-taming - uh-oh - WHOA -

OK, sure.

[She raises her free pincer enough that it'll be in frame and gives it a wave. Yep, definitely a scorpion claw!]

[Just as she thought.

Time to squeal.]

WOOOOW! THAT'S SO COOL! Can those claws crush bone? Or do you prefer to call them pincers? Are you poisonous at all?

[Scorpia looks downright stunned at Webby's enthusiasm, an expression that gradually shifts to something even more emotional.]

Um... either one is fine. And they're good for general pincing and can cut through pretty much anything. And my sting can... can...

[Nope, she can't quite continue. She's clearly choked up and almost looks like she's about to cry. Probably not the reaction Webby was expecting at all.]

Huh?

[Oh no!!! What did she do wrong?]

What? What is it? Did I say something bad? I'm sorry if I did! I know I say a lot of things without thinking...

No, no... it's nothing like that.

[Scorpia takes a deep breath and steadies herself.]

It's just... my whole life, the Horde always told me that I was different. That I wouldn't fit in anywhere else. But ever since I've been here, most everyone's made me feel... the opposite of not belonging. Which I guess is... belonging?

So when you said you liked my pincers, and what's always made me different, I just... I still don't really know what to say, you know?

[The Horde? Doesn't that raise a million and one questions! But for once, Webby can see this is not the time.]

Well... I guess I kind of know what that's like. I had no one to belong to for a long time, before I made my first friends! And sometimes I feel like I still weird them out... but they always accept me anyway. Besides, being different is great! If we were all the same, it'd be really boring.

[Yeah, probably not. Especially since Scorpia isn't nearly as sure about a lot of the answers as she used to be.

She smiles a bit as Webby mentions that her friends still accept her despite her oddities.]

It's great that you have friends like that. I thought I had some, but... well, some things happened. One of them turned out to not be a very good friend at all, and the other is in a lot of trouble that's partly my fault. I'd actually just left the Horde to try and save her when I was brought here.

... I've been trying to think of ways to save one of my friends too.

... But until then, and even after then, we can be each other's friends!

[Her smile becomes more genuine again.]

I'd like that. You can be my little duck buddy, just like Keeper is my squishy buddy. We can be the Super Kingdom Buddies!

[Someone actually likes her friend team name idea! And is also willing to admit that they're friends! Today is turning out to be great!]

And the best part is that we can add as many new buddies as we want and not have to change the name! Because back home I had the Super Pal Duo, then it became the Super Pal Trio when Entrapta joined up with us, then it became the Super Pal Duo again after the stuff I mentioned happening happened, so I figure this'll be a lot easier, you know?

We can never have enough Super Buddies! Maybe we can be buddies with everyone here!

... Except Hades. He's a jerk. But everyone else is cool.

You mean the guy with his head on fire? Yeah, he did seem a bit on the grumpy side. Though honestly, you probably would be too if your head was on fire, am I right?

I guess... but it still doesn't excuse trying to take over the place and letting those witch sisters loose.

It was back before your group arrived. Hades unleashed these three witches that caused chaos and havoc all over!

[She nods her understanding, then pauses a moment before cautiously asking something.]

Uh, question: did any of these 'witch sisters' I dunno... wear a mask? And dress all in red?

[Please don't be Shadow Weaver, please don't be Shadow Weaver...]

Huh? ... Nope! None of them wore masks, and they all had different dresses on.

Why do you ask?

[Scorpia looks relived at that.]

Whew... that's good to know! For a second, I thought that Shadow Weaver might have been here. I mean I don't know if she had any sisters, but she's a sorceress from back on Etheria, and she's really not someone you want to run into in a dark alley. Or anywhere else, really.

She certainly sounds dangerous... but don't you worry! If she does show up here, we can take her! I've helped kick butt of evil sorceresses before.

Well it's always good to have experience.

But I'd still be careful. She isn't dangerous just because of her magic; she's really smart too. And also just... kind of terrifying in general.

It takes a whole lot to scare me! She can try her best, but I can take her!

[Scorpia wants to be able to believe that, but... she knows Shadow Weaver. She grew up knowing Shadow Weaver. And knowing what she knows? She can't quite be comforted by Webby's confidence.]

I hope you're right. Still... let's just hope she doesn't show up here, OK?
