When the cocoon had first been sighted the following morning, it had inspired a level of shock and surprise that was befitting it's massive size. Once it was recalled that there was a larvae among the apprentices some of that subsided. That being said it was still hard to avoid gawking at it whenever one had the chance. It had never occurred to him before that Mothra might undergo some transformation and he wondered about what the final result would be. Well- the name was telling, it implied an insect of the winged variety but there was plenty of variation possible within that stipulation in terms of wing-shape, body structure, and coloration.

Atem was engaged in some late night training when the sound of roaring struck his ears. Once again he was forced to abandon the task at hand to go investigate. Having no way that knowing that it had been issued from the newly emerged queen he was on the defensive. If a corroded monster had found it's way to main street then it wouldn't be allowed to get far.

When the outstretched wings came into view, he relaxed and sheathed his weapon. Then he proceeded to weave through the buildings and closed up stands to get closer.
