"Mmhm." She nodded, smiling. "I got my first camera from my Aunt Zelda... She won a Polaroid in a grange raffle and said she didn't have use for it with a farm to run. I spent our whole visit taking pictures. By the time I got back to the city, I was hooked, and my Dad got me a Nikon for my birthday. Then for Christmas, he got the zoom lens and ... Mom got the flash."

She pursed her lips, suddenly trying not to cry. She hadn't thought about it since Adam and Barbara came into her life, but... the camera had been the one way her family was still in one piece. And now it was gone, or at least, not with her. His comment about her fingers was just enough to pull her back, though, and she pulled in a breath, wiping at her eyes.

"This...isn't spray paint," she admitted with a guilty smile. "We tried the magic, too."
